CW: Please undo the latest changes to Crew Top Contributors!!!

The new update allows everyone to see all member contributions, not just the Top 5 contributors on a challenge. There is no way (as owner) that I can change that setting. Our crew does not need to see who contributed the least. We believe in collaboration, not competition. I believe that CW added the Crews to get younger players who prefer cooperative games, rather than create a “Wall of Shame”.

Please reverse this change - or at least add a setting where we can decide who to show. Our crew would actually prefer to eliminate that list completely.

I hope this problem gets repaired quickly.

Thank you.

I agree 100%. Prepare for the finger pointing and arguing. There is no need of who did or didn’t do what. Some of these people are so petty.

Why not? I’m still 10 bil down from the last Slot crew challenge. These people who want to scam should be called out.

Here we go. It’s started.

I’m not about pointing fingers at any one person in particular, but to me, collaboration means participation. However, it should be up to the crew owner to decide on their fate one way or the other. As a crew member, i just play, enjoy and whatever happens happens!

All I want is to be able to see my own progress if I’m not in the top five. If a crew member is not ‘up to par’ they will be removed by the admin, I hope. But people who don’t participate and expect a;; the goodies…guess who they are?

I will put myself on the line here… totally just my take and please all do as you choose, but let me be me… Crews events was put out as a way to be a participant of a CREW group (key word participant)… to me all should not be able to see a top list ..A list should only be at the hands of the owner and with that a player can ask what they are doing and how they rank if that is so important to them… but, progress of other participants should not be of others concern… It should be a friendly and fun group of all contributing to reach the goal and stretch goal for the site rewards… i will also say that site sets the events and as they run one after another and various days of the week please consider many have real life things that have to be dealt with.. YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY MAY BE FACING at any one day or time… was there something in real life that prevented them from being able to contribute alot or at all ??? during that time.. to me communication should be with the owner who would determine on that players situation… i smh at the over zealous competition and shaming/bullying of others… i am so thankful to all the many that see this situation as i do … all should participate to gain the rewards but, the owner should be the only one that knows and handles what all are doing… CREWS and events should be fun with friendly and kind hearted competition (if players choose and not forced)… ty for hearing me and if you do not agree i am happy for you to continue being you, as i will continue being me.. wishing all a gr8 day with lots of good health, fun, and luck.. :hugs:

I agree Elanor. Thank you.

Our crew has completed the last two events in a day and a half. If a team member just happened to not be online for that time they had zero contributions. Just coincidently bad timing on their part, but no reason to remove someone from a team unless it happens again and again. I agree it should only be for the team captain to see beyond the top 5.

@Samantha I hope you see this thread.

I think the best way to handle this would be:

  1. Let the crew owner decide how many should be on the top contributor list.
  2. Let each crew member see their own contribution.

While this is being worked on, please revert back to the Top 5 only.

Thank you.

@Elanor, unfortunately CW is business first. Showing everyone’s numbers just puts peer pressure on players to pull their weight, which usually gets people to open their wallets for gems.
Having an on/off toggle for the owner - or an option to just show top 5 vs hiding it - would be way better. Competitive crews could still track their stats, and more casual crews wouldn’t have to deal with the unnecessary drama and finger pointing.

My guess is they’re probably testing the waters for full crew leaderboards next.

This is not the case here. Once Crews released, our teams were looking closely at all the feedback we received. This is a big, new feature, and our teams wanted the CS team to gather all feedback to see what players wanted us to add to Crews. The request to show everyone’s contributions was, by far, the biggest request for all of Flowplay’s games.

There are more additions coming to Crews based on player feedback, but our teams acted on the request to see all contributions first.

This feedback has been passed along.

I sort of feel like if you keep your crew private or set to invite only you are much better off in regards to controlling the drama and the people that join your team. Secondly, I feel much better about being able to see my contributions when I am not in the top 5 as opposed to the way it was initially set up. Third, if an owner has allowed petty, drama-centered people onto their crew, because they failed to vet people first, there-in lies the problem… not the fact that all members can now see each others contributions. I think the solution to a drama free environment within a crew is to choose your people wisely and set expectations upfront with all crew members and any invitees before they come on board. This will weed out any sour apples. If anyone thinks differently about how the owner is running their crew, they are welcome to move along and find themselves a better fit. Owners get to set the expectations as far as I’m concerned.

@Ancient_Echoes, as a crew owner, the most important thing I tell our members is to just play the way they always have. Don’t stress over the regular goals or the stretch goals - we get there when we get there, and if we don’t, oh well, not a big deal!

At the end of the day, people come here to relax, spin, and build their cities, not punch a time clock. Nobody should feel pressured to spend or burn themselves out over challenges/goals. Keeping expectations low and the atmosphere friendly is the best way to make sure it stays fun for everyone.

@Night_Guy — Your method is exactly how my crew owner LA_13 has handled her crew as well. We do expect contribution and participation, but we have a mix of lower level milestone players all the way to very high level crown players. We don’t expect all players to contribute equally. It’s just not a fair and reasonable expectation given how the game deals out resources based on a players level, city etc. We also realize people have lives, different time zones etc., and will not all be available around the same time frames to participate. Like you, we don’t stress over the regular or the stretch goals, (“We get there when we get there”). People can take their time and play at their usual pace. No rush. And if the over achievers want to spend day one powering through the goals before some of the others get a chance to do their part… burn the midnight oil or whatever… that is a choice they are making, not a requirement. When it comes down to it, the prizes are not so amazing that there would seem to be any reason to get petty about anything or create such an unfriendly environment. I happen to like helping out the lower level players as they work their way up. So, if I can help them receive more prizes, buildings, charms, passes, gems or whatever, I’m happy to give them a boost. The game can be pretty draining in the beginning as a newbie tries to level up. They need all the help they can get.

I thought that crews understood there would be all ranges of people in the team, the highrollers that helped pull the slack for the cash partys, and then us cheapskates that would party and help where maybe others didnt want too  im sure some teams were created just for get it done purposes, especially if they bring out leagues which im sure they will, but i for one dont mind, Im not a highroller, im not bottom of the list either but the prizes really arent so wonderful that if i couldnt find a crew it would break my heart. Love the one im in and hope i get to stay but thats my opinion  I do think CW needs to increase my party ticket allowance though… because right now its abysmal lol

The public crew I happened to join is wonderful. As others have said, a mix of early Milestone players, higher Milestone players, early Crown and higher Crown players. I said this early on, this is a wonderful feature especially for the Milestone players. It will help them keep progressing, not because anyone is getting massive rewards, but getting extra Gems by being on a Crew will help them. If the Crew hits the Stretch, now they get a nicer tier building than what they might have been able to buy on their own (every week or 2 weeks). So stacking a team does not seem to be any real advantage though that could change one day depending on future changes CW makes.

For me, I also like the additional rewards this provides in the end.

Thank you, Samantha, maybe CW could just add a feature where the crew owner can turn the contribution feature on or off for all.my crew is a team no one cares who does what or how much, but they do wonder how much they did. I myself would like it to stay, but I want my teams progress to be between my team only not everyone to see Happy Gaming Ev1

I like knowing what my contribution was so I don’t mind at all. But I agree Crews should be able to “vote” it out if they don’t like it.
