My ipad is 8 years old, it has enough memory, updated to latest version. The problem I have is every time I try to play it starts then goes away and I have to keep trying to keep the game going. It works fine on our Mac and my phone.
I don’t understand why it keeps doing this. I’d like to play on the ipad as my hubby uses the mac. Anyone have an idea as to why it won’t work on my ipad? I am not tech savvy so I thought someone might have an answer.

That sounds very frustrating! The problem is almost certainly the iPad’s age.
An 8-year-old iPad (which is likely a 5th generation from 2017) is no longer supported by Apple for major software updates. It was not eligible for the new operating systems released after September 2023 and is now running on outdated software.
Even though you have enough memory, the game itself requires a modern operating system to run properly. Because your iPad’s software is too old, the game can’t run, and that’s why it keeps crashing.
This is also exactly why it works perfectly on your newer Mac and phone - they have the latest software that the game needs. Unfortunately, you’ll probably find this will start happening with more apps on the old iPad over time.
