“I” LOVE 3-Card Poker because it it “THE BEST” Game to use doing “Research” on “CharmValue” and Charm Attributes! 🥰

It is so EASY, LOL! 😀

Just go to SinglePlayer 3-CardPoker and the 10M Bet! 1 Hand, NeverFold! 🤩

Load your BIG “Research” Charms and “TEST” Away! 🤑

In my opinion, This is the Quickest way to Exchange OverStocks of 5Groups of SlowPay 4CloverCharms on your CrownDay! 🤑

No losing on this setup and you see your CharmValue because they CashOut in the Blink of the Eye, LOL! 🤣

Drop to 5M/1M Bet if you need to Develop “TRUST” !🥰

@SteveSunset Just a question…What is the point of folding when playing 3 card poker? If the dealer is going to win, you lose your bet, If you fold you lose your bet. What am I missing? I’m new to this game.

Can’t play very much at 10 mil a hand. It’s not the coins. It’s the mass Charm destruction that

If I’m not mistaken Cathylee, if you fold you lose your bet, but if you “play” and lose, you then lose your bet and the ante (ie, if you bet 1mm, and lose the hand, you lose both the 1mm bet, a 1mm ante, ultimately losing 2mm).

Regards, 🙂

</div>

Hi Cathylee,

@papa_meester is exactly right. When you fold, you only lose your **1-bet Ante**. But if you “Play” and the dealer qualifies and beats you, you lose _both_ your Ante and your Play bet, for a total loss of **2 bets**.

That’s why the **Q-6-4** rule is the most important strategy in the game.

As @Elanor mentioned in her [3 Card Poker or Blackjack?](https://forum.casinoworld.com/t/3-card-poker-or-blackjack/1869) post, the basic strategy is to “Fold any starting hand lower than Q-6-4.”

The reason is all about pure math and finding the smallest possible loss (this is called “Expected Value”):

- **If you fold:** Your guaranteed loss is **1 bet**.
- **If you have Q-6-4 and “Play”:** The math shows your average loss over time is **0.99 bets**. This is slightly _better_ than folding.
- **If you have Q-6-3** (the very next hand down): Your average loss is **just over 1 bet**. This is _worse_ than folding.

So, Q-6-4 is the exact “tipping point” hand where it becomes cheaper to play than it is to fold.

* * *

### Why Strategy Matters (House Edge Comparison)

Sticking to this matters a lot for how much the casino expects to win from you over time (the “house edge,” based on your Ante bet):

- **Playing Q-6-4 or Better (Optimal Strategy):** The house edge is around **3.37%**. This is the best you can do.
- **Playing Weaker Hands (like J-8-3 or better):** If you decide to play hands weaker than Q-6-4, such as playing any hand that is J-8-3 or better, the house edge goes up. You’re making unnecessary -EV (negative expected value) plays compared to the optimal strategy.
- **Never Folding (Playing Every Hand):** If you just play every single hand you get, the house edge jumps dramatically to **7.65%**! You lose coins much faster this way.

So, folding those hands below Q-6-4 really does save you coins in the long run compared to just playing everything or playing hands that _almost_ seem good enough like J-8-3. You should fold everything below Q-6-4 and play everything at Q-6-4 or above!

> I was in a discussion recently about whether you should cash your charms out on 3 card poker or blackjack. I prefer blackjack with the basic strategy table I posted under the Topic “Why I like Blackjack” since it gives the player a 4% advantage in the long run. Several people prefer 3 card poker because it’s simpler. Here is the basic strategy to maximize the expected value: Fold any starting hand lower than Q-6-4 Never play pairs-plus That’s it. If you follow this strategy you will have a…

</div>

Here’s a simple way to look at the odds and the impact of strategy:

Let’s say you play **100 hands** of 3-Card Poker at 10M coins each, for a total wagered amount of 1B coins (assuming no charms):

- **With Optimal Strategy (Play Q-6-4 or better):** The house edge is 3.37%. On average, you’d expect to lose **33.7M** coins (1B \* 3.37%).
- **If You Never Fold:** The house edge jumps to 7.65%. On average, you’d expect to lose **76.5M** coins (1B \* 7.65%) - more than double the loss!

Now, let’s extend that to playing 100 hands every day for a month ( **3000 hands** total, wagering 30B coins):

- **With Optimal Strategy:** Your expected loss over the month would be roughly **1.011B** coins (30B \* 3.37%).
- **If You Never Fold:** Your expected loss skyrockets to roughly **2.295B** coins (30B \* 7.65%).

Playing the simple Q-6-4 strategy saves you a significant amount of coins in the long run compared to just playing every hand.

Haha, I get that thinking, @Eddi_Bets! Your Dad’s advice sounds fun, though casinos definitely count on that ‘chance it’ thinking - they operate purely based on math! 😉 I also think the charms do a good job of masking how much you’re actually losing over time. Most slots really do have a high house edge, often over 10%. Statistically, the games where you have a player’s edge are Blackjack (if you use the correct CW strategy), Mahjong, Lillypond, and Jewels of Osiris. Texas Hold’em _might_ be in there too if you’re a skilled player. But yeah, play what makes you happy! Sometimes you just have to see it as the cost of entertainment.
