I prefer to play games where the player has the advantage. One such game, if played correctly, is Jewels of Osiris. This was especially helpful for me when I started out. Here are some tips.
Remember you only pay when you make a move. So if you don’t like the board, you can reload at zero cost!
A simple strategy is to only play the fives, which means making a L a T or a line. You can do this on any board. See the images below. You can make a green L, a blue T or a white line. This guarantees you will at worst break even:
If you want to play a full board, I would keep reloading until I get a square board (no outside indentations) that have an objective of 6 ankhs or 15 matching gems - examples shown:
In this board the objective is to drop 6 ankhs from the bottom. Moves should be made to accomplish that objective first.
In this board, the objective is to match 15 gems of the specific color (in this example pink triangles), usually in threes. Try to accomplish the object first.
Some important points:
Look for fives first. Otherwise make moves towards the bottom.
If you get stuck with objective, and you built up a lot of ankhs or special gems, use the reshuffle button.
I always try to save reshuffle for this purpose only.
After the objective is made, you can play the game as long as you want and expect a positive result. Try to extend the game as long as possible. Play at the bottom, but maybe avoid the side that has your last remaining uncleared space.
So that’s basically it:
- Play the Fives first on ANY board
- Play only the two square boards with 6 ankhs or 15 jewels objectives
- Play to make your objective (always play any five first)
- Play from the bottom (unless there is a five) trying to avoid clearing your board as long as possible.
That’s it. I use my lesser charms on Jewels. have fun.
