Getting my Monthly update this month, i was able to see how much lower my Party Passes were this month. Others have also noticed a lower level of Party Passes in the month of February.
In January I received 274,088 from my TB’s for January.
I was only down by 122 compared to January which considering there were three fewer days I’ll take as a win. In the last six months, December was my lowest, around 60,000 fewer than February
Interestingly, my passes this month are actually on par with previous months. I think it really comes down to how many Treasure Boxes you open.
A more accurate way to measure the drop is to take your total Party Passes and divide them by the number of Treasure Boxes opened (you can pull both numbers from the monthly summary emails). Since they nerfed the Treasure Boxes, my average has held steady at right around 200 passes per box.
Assuming a standard drop is 2,000 passes or higher (or lower in some cases) when you actually hit them, that math means we are pulling passes roughly once every 10 boxes.
The big drop off after May 2024 is quite telling. I’m certain you’ve enhanced your city by orders or magnitude since then, yet the pp yields have diminished.
@Night_Guy I did the math you suggested about PP’s per TB (on average) and it came out to this….
Jan, it was 828 per TB
Feb, it was 542 per TB.
Overall my entire month was low-level when it came to City coins collected, PP’s, gems, etc. And that is after building MANY new monuments and buildings as usual.
Not sure what the algorithm issue was in Feb, but i’m hopeing March is better!
Where on the monthly summary can you find party passes earned only through TBs? My “Party Passes Earned” includes those from TBs, but also from the green boxes in my city, gifts from friends, the 5000 that CW gives every month and any from challenge rewards. I know this because I keep a daily spreadsheet that separates PPs from TBs and PPs from other sources.
@Theresa_Hill2 and @NashRivers - The difference in our averages is most likely due to our picking strategies. I only pick brown boxes unless I spot a flaming lightning for guaranteed gems, and I completely ignore any bubbling lightning that isn’t on a brown box. Doing it this way gives me a much better chance of finding the flaming lightning boxes, but it definitely brings down my overall Party Pass average.
@NashRivers - Just a guess, but the difference in your February and January averages might also come down to how you selected your boxes each month.
@Rendar - As for what makes a “solid” number of TBs per month, it really depends on your overall box strategy. However, I’d say hitting 600+ is a great target to aim for!
Hello @Nunya - You’re absolutely right about that. I am just generalizing with the assumption that you get approximately the same number of gifts from friends, city collections, and other pass prizes each month, so those numbers mostly average out. I actually keep records of all the TBs I receive and did a sanity check for the last 2 months; the percentage difference between my tracked totals and the email summaries is basically the same - at least for me! If you think you got a lot more passes from other sources (gifted) that month, you could check your “gifts received” (assuming you haven’t deleted them) and subtract that from the email summary total for a more accurate average. With so many variables, it’s hard to get a perfect count, but tracking your averages over time should still give you a really good idea of where you stand.
I guess we all have our own experiences with CW, because of what resources we have and what we decide to do with them.
I looked back six months to see if I’d had a big drop in party passes when NashRivers first posed the question and my lowest party pass month was December not February.
December coincidentally is also the month when I went to the lowest number of parties, hosted the least and opened fewest treasure boxes out of the six months I looked at
I follow them both, buying tier 6 buildings to convert to monuments after hmp. This has really helped me progress well on this site, joining in November 2024, becoming VIP in May 2025, and edging up on my third crown. My city tier dropped from 4 to 5 after I bought four tier 16 buildings this morning. I have zero party passes and promising tbs have only yielded unlucky 7s.
@Goose_Rocks - I understand the frustration, but the key is to prioritize city investment above everything else. The goal is to reach the point where your treasure box is maxed out and pays consistently across the board. At that level, every box offers the same high reward range: a minimum of 1,000 gems, 2,000 passes, or 25M coins, and Luckiest 7s or Mystic Rubies for charm prizes.
Try to avoid spending gems on outfits or parties for now; instead, put all those earnings toward your city. Once you hit that 1.9 million gems worth of buildings in your city, you’ll see a massive, permanent improvement in your TB rewards. Like @MEGS32 said, it’s about saving your Luckiest 7s and Mystic Rubies - at 100 million coins each charm, 500 of them will get you to that 50 billion mark for a crown. It takes patience, but it pays off. Hope it works out for you.
Go to GnG parties to get charms - Sodas first, Unicorns as soon as I grew enough.
Play Blackjack (5x50M) as my main game following the correct strategy.
Get through my challenges as cheap/quick as possible.
It’s worked well for me.
For socializing I play Hold’em and Omaha - but with low limits and a 5% house rake, not games to build with.
Yes the game keeps getting changed/nerfed. This is a business and as more players get free VIP, CW needs to find ways to keep the game profitable. The alternative is Flowplay simply discontinues the game and none of us want that.
