Hello CW. It is time to change the programming involving the purchase of buildings to allow players to buy more than 1 of the same building with one purchase. It was shown with the change to the Charm Manager where you added a feature to buy charms with a drop down that allows you to buy more than one of the same charm with one purchase. That seems to show it could also be programmed to allow this same method in purchasing buildings.
Like buying charms, it should be set at 1 when you select a building. Then with the drop down listing 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 100. This would number 1 only purchase 1 building unless the player chooses another number preventing a player from saying I did not buy a different number of buildings and 2 it would provide plenty of various choices for different levels of players. It is a change the player community has asked for numerous times and would make building your city simpler and more fun. It is tedious buying 1 building at a time, placing it in your city (or storage), going back to the Building Shop, selecting the same building, placing it, going back to the Building Shop, selecting the same building and on.
@PB234 I second that request, and third, and fourth!! My husband and I were just saying if they can do it in the charm manager, they should be able to do it for buildings. Please CW, this is something many, many players have asked for over the years. It would be awesome to have.
This is something I have made a post about before as well. If they can not set it up like this, maybe they can add a section with “Most recent purchase” so that instead of always scrolling down to find your building 50 or 100 times, it will show up at the top each time since it would be your most recent purchase?
One side issue i never thought about, was buying 50 buildings at one time and then having to place each one, “one at a time” into your city. The ability to purchase multiple buildings at a time, would mean a “buffer” that once you place a building, the next one comes up, and the next, etc.
@NashRivers That is an interesting point on how to handle that many buildings in one purchase and I had not thought of it when typing this out. I hope CW can consider the request and then find a solution to how buildings go into your city if buying multiple in one purchase. Maybe it could be setup to automatically put the buildings in storage? Then no placing is required with that many?
When I purchase 20, I’m putting them in storage right away. I’m not putting them into the visible city.
I think there will be some other fabulous thoughts on this.
I think your idea is a good one, @PB234. As you mentioned, I always put my new building purchases into Storage right away. I have My City designed the way I want it and I’m not in a hurry to change that. For now, I plan to add only the Top-Tier monuments as I evolve each one in turn, as I have been doing for months. That only adds the monuments to the mix without disturbing the main theme.
I had suggested an option in Settings, similar to the High Roller choice. Buy one building at a time, or buy multiple buildings at a time. I’m not a programmer, so I don’t know if this would be more difficult, but it certainly would keep anyone from complaining that they bought 2 buildings and only meant to buy 1. That’s the reason I’ve been given for not allowing the purchase of more than one building–some people accidentally buy more than they meant to.
I recall that answer previously, though they were able to do it with buying charms so why wouldn’t the same logic possibly come into play with someone saying they did not mean to buy 20 Luckiest 7 charms at 1439 Gems each? Because it is set at 1 when you click on a charm and have to physically change the selection to another number to purchase more than 1. So the same logic can be applied to buying multiple buildings.
I agree with all of the above! I hope CW considers this request. I have held off on buying buildings and evolving them because it just takes to much time!
