I normally do not have the Auto Equip Charms function activated.
However, I find this function frequently self activates. When this happens, and I inspect the “Auto Equip Charms” check box, I find that it remains unchecked. Then, to deactivate the auto equip function, I then need to check and uncheck the auto equip charms check box

What front end are you using, IoS, edge, chrome? If you reset the game some settings get reset.
Try to capture video the next time you notice, show the auto equip charm setting and show trying to put charms back in your box, then go back, check and uncheck the auto switch, then show you are able to put them back in. As for whats causing the issue and a fix, only the devs can advise.
I could guess but it ticks me off when someone just guesses, without seeing your settings, seeing it happen, there’s little I can do to help, sorry. Nvidia’s replacement for geforce experience has a nice overlay with recording option.
