Anyone else having graphic and slowdown issues that started just recently?
When I open a CW window my video card fan kicks on and everything slows down. After 10-15min I get the occasional screen flicker and it gets worse. When I close the CW window the fan slows back down and everything goes back to normal.
Talked to folks in a party and it might be just peeps using Firefox?
Maybe a memory leak issue? I’m not having problems with any other site or application.
Hi @Tickle. When I started on CW in 2021, I was using Firefox, but soon found that it seemed to be incompatible with the site. Since then I’ve been using Chrome without any major issues. I also hear that some players say Edge is good to use with CW. Good luck!!
I’ve been using Firefox for access to CW all the time I’ve played on here. The last 2 or 3 days, I get a severe slowdown and I even miss clicks because of the slowdowns, such as when it’s my turn to bet in Texas Hold ‘Em. My mouse movement has hesitation instances during a sweep that make it hard to work with. I’ve used Ctrl+Shift+Windows key+B to reset the graphics card, but that doesn’t usually fix it. Sometimes, F5 to exit and reset the game works, but not always.
Oh good- I thought it was just me! Last night was awful! I rebooted my computer twice, thinking I needed to run a nice deep Norton scan… and by the third reboot it seemed to be OK again. I’m using Firefox too, which is bugggggyyyyy. I didn’t want to use Edge, but I have it if I have to. I thought for sure it was something from the forced Windows updates I’ve had in the last two days! HA! At least today everything is running OK. Interesting you were having the problem on Mar 28 and I was having it April 2. Grr!!
I’ve been digging into the technical side of this, and it’s definitely the Firefox 149 update from March 24th. Since they use a phased rollout, that explains why the lag hit @Tickle on the 28th but didn’t reach @Minx until April 2nd.
Here is the “simplified” breakdown of why this is happening:
GPU Engine Clash (CVE-2026-4684): Firefox updated its core GPU engine (WebRender). The new security “sanitizing” is likely clashing with how Casino World triggers graphics, causing those freezes and stutters.
Older PCs Getting Cut Off: Firefox raised its requirements to OpenGL 3.2. If your machine is pre-2012 or has older integrated graphics, the browser might have silently disabled your GPU, forcing your CPU to do all the work, which is why those fans are working overtime.
Canvas Elements (CVE-2026-4685 / CVE-2026-4686): The game uses “Canvas2D” for the interface and cards. New rules for how the browser validates these graphics are likely causing the flickers and missed clicks.
How to check and fix:
Type about:support in your address bar and press Enter.
Find the Graphics section and look for Compositing.
If it says Software, your GPU is being ignored.
To try a reset, go to Settings > General > Performance, uncheck “Use recommended settings,” and toggle Hardware Acceleration off and back on.
There is a maintenance patch scheduled for April 7th that might help stabilize things. Until then, switching to Chrome or Edge is the best way to get a smooth session!
You are so amazing! I hope people see this post, because it’s really going to help so many! We just jump on here and whine and carry on and sympathize with each other, but Night Guy actually solves the problems!
Also - there have been a few reports that simply clearing your browser cache can fix the issue for some users. If you haven’t tried that yet, please give it a shot and see if it helps stabilize the game!
I’m starting to think you should change your name from night guy to computer guy!! You are quite something!! In the best way, of course! Thank you for the breakdown
Thanks for the info Night Guy. It’s a newer PC and the fan that was kicking on was the graphic card fan. I also recently cleared all cache, cookies, etc for a different reason (might have been the same time I started having problems? hmm). I did the uncheck/check and it seems a lot better, have to let it sit for awhile and observe. In the meantime I’ll wait for the update, no interest in using Google or Microsoft’s browsers.
Thanks again.
Edit: couple minutes later got a flicker, oh well. No other site causes this.
