Friends List - Disable Option

Was there an explanation to why we were given the option of disabling the Friends List from our profile? Why is it a privacy issue to know who’s friends with who?

Who knows there’s a lot of hiding here, But if you hide your friends then you must have some you don’t want them to see maybe you have some they don’t like..lol.so that would be a two facer lol..There’s all kinds here,Multiple accounts, users, liars, trouble makers, perverts, alot take advantage of great people who see no bad in anyone, it’s a shame too. I been here over 5 years 1 name 1 account. And hide nothing. Even if I need too I call people out, what are they going to do? beat you up lmbo just have fun like who you like ignore the ignorance of others

Thank you @APRIL_DIAMOND_62 for your candid response. When CW introduces a new change or upgrade, my expectation is that the overall intention for the new feature is to improve the experience of the game and the player. I’m curious as to what was the ‘cause’ that made this feature available to us?

Thinking about it, I thought about the possibility of a sub-group of people in CW role-playing episodes of ‘Survivor’ that are making secret alliances and throwing people off the island as a regular (or out of the casino in our case)…then I can see why this group of people would advocate for such a feature. There must be a real-life scenario that spawned CW to make this option for us and It would be helpful to know what it was.

Other than anything nefarious, I don’t see why I as a regular player would I need to safeguard my Friends List from prying eyes. Having ‘guilt by association’ or the old adage ‘birds of a feather flock together’ are just assumptions and may or may not be true. As well, It can be counterintuitive as one person can enable their Friends List as the other person disables it, the ‘association’ you may had wanted hidden is not fool proof.

A ‘Friends List’ main purpose in the game is to ‘invite’ at parties. Let’s not read into it too much but if there are those who want to play Sherlock Holmes and think they can deduce and solve the world’s problems using my Friends List, more power to them.

I’ll be the first to admit I have 2 accounts. One is my main VIP acct. (I can’t afford 2 VIP accts). I have 2 accounts so they can help each other out with either party passes, tokens, spins etc. I think ppl should be able to play as many accts they want for whatever reason. To each their own.

I have no issues with anyone having more than 1 account, but let everyone know this on your profiles, or tell your friends. Some do let people know, most hide it, just to get more from others too, gifts etc. For me since I became a lifer, and I have been here over 5 years I have bought many VIP membership months for some I would be very upset to find out someone I got it for already has more accounts. I have always had 1 account same name, but that’s me.I just want to have fun, and help when and if I can

Putting that in your profile is a good idea that I hadn’t thought of! I’d love to bring over many of the friends I have made in the past year to socialize with while I’m playing my other avatar.

We’ve received requests from Casino World players for this feature. A lot of changes in Casino World come from feedback from players.

@Samantha It would be helpful in the future to know the specific reason for the new features introduced that were requested by other players. As players our experience on the site is different from each other. An explanation for the implementation and the intended purpose that was requested by other players would be helpful in exercising our judgement for its use. Thank you.

It’s a simple reason LOL. A lot of people on CW are shady and engage in cheating behavior that can be better concealed if they can hide their freind list from their partners. That way person A can keep Person B from seeing person C, D, or E is on their freind list. Same reason people hide when they get gifts. I see the hiding things on here as a bit of a red flag, I mean to each their own, but hiding something as silly as CW details indicates something shady imo.

Like in all sports, I think ALL STATs pertaining to game play should be shown at all times.

For example, start date, coin amount, milestone/crown status, etc.

Things that have nothing to do with game play leave optional such as Friends List and Gifts.

I don’t care if Tom Brady got a gift or who his friends are. I just care what his stats are.

Of course, that’s just me.
