Fringo Freezing and getting out of sync

Has anyone else had trouble with Fringo? It has constantly been freezing. The count on fruits gets stuck. When trying to sync with the server it kicks me out and I have to reload. The fruits moving along, when they do move, will move out of context and you see you have 4 or some other number left and the games says it is over.

I have tried this on different networks, different computers, different OS’s, different browsers. Same thing happens. Internet speed is 2 gig over 2 gig.

Any comments appreciated

I’ve noticed a slowdown too, especially in the Halloween Fringo, just as you described. CW did have some issues at the beginning, so I’m not sure if it’s related.

Based on your description, it’s possible it’s a connection issue if it’s not CW itself. You could try resetting your router and/or modem (sometimes they’re both in one device). Turn them off for at least 30 seconds before turning them back on. This allows the capacitors to fully discharge, which clears the device’s volatile memory (RAM) and forces a true ‘cold boot’ - a simple on/off flick doesn’t always do this.

This process will also clear your router’s DNS cache and lookup tables, which is often what resolves these kinds of issues.

I appreciate you suggestions, however I have been in IT for more than 35 years and manage some 14,000 computers currently and all of these items I have started with and have use other networks not related to mine as well. This has to be CW. I also find the same issue with Cha Chingo. It tells me I have been kicked off as I look behind the pop-up notice the game still running in the background. They need to get their database/servers in order

That’s a fair point; you’ve clearly ruled out the client-side.

I’ve seen that same server-side behavior: a game will finish its current round in the background even after a disconnect, and if it’s a slot on auto-spin, it will stop.

Your point about it being server-side got me thinking, and the timing is very interesting. On Oct 20th, AWS had that major cascading failure in the US-East-1 region, and there was another incident on the 28th. I can personally attest to this - my own AI bots, web services, and a bunch of VMs were having significant issues during that exact window.

I wonder if what you were seeing was related to that broader infrastructure issue, rather than something internal to CW’s own code. Since those AWS services are stable now, are you still experiencing the same issues today?

Clearly, and of course I know about the AWS issue, as well as the recent Azure problem. I see where on, for example Cha Chingo, will show a disconnect, while in the background it continues to play out the game.

Yep, that’s normal behavior. The game is just playing out the last set of instructions it got from the server before the connection dropped.
I hope it’s all resolved for you now; I believe those issues have cleared up for most users. If not, please try send a support request to CW.

We will see what does or does not happen
