@Samantha I hope this note finds you well. I’ll start by saying that CW has almost become unplayable at this point….lot’s and lot’s of unhappy customers that pay money to play on the site. I have beyond the necessary CPU requirements, my equipment is new in fact, have 1gb internet connectivity, and should easily handle what CW throws at it. The crashing / freezing can be purely random, even when having rebooted from being kicked off. It can happen as a result of too much typing. It can happen from going from one party room to another, being invited by some other player, following another player. It has gotten so bad, and please do not tell us that it’s on our end and not yours. There must be something that CW could do to alleviate this from happening all of the time. Would you please be so kind to push this up the command chain?
Thank you in advance and kind regards,

One of my friends poofed from a party, missed a lot of great charms before he could get back in. This issue is really costing players.

Or you’re the host of a party you’ve set…..you go to your party room or are invited into it, and poof. Go thru the reboot process only to find out that your own party room is now filled and you can’t get into it. Truly ridiculous.

I’m doing well I guess. 99.99% of my time here I have no issues with poofing, freezing or having to reboot. I have a new computer and an 8 Gigabits Internet connection though my provider.

I totally agree. That’s why i don’t say much in party’s. If i do I’ll freeze won’t be able to get back in because party will be full. I’ve complained about this for years @papa_meester. They just keep saying it’s you’re pc. But it’s not the pc it’s either their servers are to small or their is a glitch in who ever programed those party tourney’s.
I’ve helped players who have problems poofing by giving them the information below. I’m listing the items in order of importance.
-
Run an antispyeware program and clean your system of all spyware.
-
Make sure you do not have any other programs running in the background other than the necessary ones like your antivirus. All programs running use resources and some grab the buss line at the same time you are trying to interact at CW.
-
Set your Treasure box so that it doesn’t pop up while in a party.
-
Make sure your operating system isn’t saving backup data to your hard drive! This needs to be turned OFF so you can use it to backup when you are not playing online.
-
Go to your settings at CW and turn off these features:
a) See parties listed at left side of screen
b) Annouce arrival of friends
-
Always REBOOT the game after a lot of texting
-
Avoid a lot of whispering as it takes up memory that will not be reclaimed w/o booting.
-
If you can do it (if you have a desktop or tower computer) go to Best Buy and buy a cable long enough to go from your router to your computer. YES! Using a hard wire instead of wireless connection will boost your powwer, speed and capability 200% !
I’ve received feedback from around 25 players thanking me for these options and they work.

Thanks, Miss Donna, very helpful information indeed. Thank you!
Thank you for the advice, @Ms_Donna! I wanted to contribute some additional data to help narrow down the cause of these freezes.
Over the years on CW, I’ve used more than 10 different relatively powerful Xeon workstations for LLM and CAD work across multiple failover internet connections, yet all have consistently locked-up when I press ‘Enter’ in a group chat. To rule out stale sessions, both my wifey DG (on a standard i7-14700 PC with a separate wired connection) and I always restart ( warm relaunch using chrome://restart ) our browsers immediately before entering a party room, never entering without a fresh start, yet the issue persisted this past weekend. While in our parties, I froze 3 times and DG froze 2 times, always specifically at the moment of pressing ‘Enter’.
I’ve pinpointed two specific triggers:
- Treasure Box Conflict: The lock-up occurs if hitting ‘Enter’ coincides exactly with the Treasure Box Ready pop-up.
- Scroll-to-Bottom Glitch: If I’m scrolled up reading the chat history, hitting ‘Enter’ to send a group message (which is supposed to trigger an auto-scroll to the latest message) often leads to a lock-up instead.
Additionally, I suspect there may be two other scenarios that trigger this same conflict, even though I personally keep these features disabled:
- Friend Arrival Notifications: A lock-up might occur if the ‘Friend Arrival’ announcement triggers at the exact millisecond you hit ‘Enter’ to chat.
- Mass Party Invite Pop-ups: Similarly, a mass invite pop up appearing simultaneously with a group chat submission (enter) could cause a lock-up.
Since this happens on both my high-spec workstation (Xeon W7-2495X / 192GB RAM / RTX 4090 & RTX A6000 GPU / 10G fiber) and DG’s regular consumer setup, it strongly suggests a software conflict within the chat UI rather than a hardware bottleneck or problem. Hopefully, this pattern helps the team find a permanent fix when we Submit a request!

Thank you, Night Guy….also beyond helpful….I knew something wasn’t right….hopefully @Samantha team can figure it all out sooner rather than later. As @Ms_Donna said, setting the TB to non-party hours might be a start, but which we really shouldn’t have to do!
Thanks to the both of you!
