Fringo Isn't Fun

Though the title of this topic would indicate otherwise, I actually do find Fringo fun… that is, when it’s called properly. But I just sat through yet another round of 50 fruits, getting to mark ONE fruit out of the last 30 drawn, on a card half-empty. Why? Because the system drew (supposedly randomly) 12 of the same fruit once, eight of another, and six of another, even though a player only needs a maximum of THREE of one fruit in any square. Plainly, this is not fair to the players, who have a right to expect a more equitable game—especially when one must buy “power-ups” (and good GOD they are expensive!!!) to have even a remote chance of winning. I am fine with the system not calling one of every fruit on every round, but this kind of overkill makes Fringo not at all fun.

I agree with your assessment of certain fruits being drawn too many times in a game. If it is random, there could be code added to put a maximum on how many times any fruit from being drawn in a game. I’ve had instances where I have 3 of a certain fruit and it is not drawn once in the entire game. Now that is really bad and very unlucky. When this happens, there is no way to complete the board (unless you get fruit family power up to play but you don’t get to pick that on your own), you certainly cannot fill the whole card which means you are not going to win and your lucky to place in a position to win your bet back. There is never more than 3 of any particular fruit used on a card, so why isn’t it limited to no more than that being drawn? I now only play the special game when it comes out.
