Is this game worth playing if you only have charms and no powerups? I never seem to be able to get anywhere near 1st, 2nd or 3rd place w/out powerups

Make you sure visit Fringo every day to collect free powerups (3,4, or 5 a day). You don’t have to play. I would never play without them. I currently have 1500 powerups from doing this for 2 years.
You can do the same daily collection with Dragon Mahjong and LilyPond Solitaire.

When I try to use the power up that you click on a line (double payline?)my cursor disappears and I get stuck there while the fruits go by and I cant get back to the game, HELP
I used to experience that too. Eventually I tried clicking the number down the left side of the board and it worked.
After you’ve committed to a game, while you wait for the start countdown, toggle the ‘show play lines’ option on and you can see where each number’s line is - I toggle it off before the start because personally I think in play the lines get in the way.
I think it would be really helpful if CW produced a pictorial guide for how all of the power-ups work in practice.
