How do you “stack” buildings in your city?

I learned how to stack from @Andromeda.
Here is an example with illustrations:

I want to move the green monument in line with the other row of monuments. So I first move the end monument into storage.

You see the space is created. I can now move the new monument into the vacated space.

Then I shift it one space to the left, leaving a gap.

Now I can bring the monument I put into storage back to it’s original position, filling the gap. This is the tricky part. I drag it all the way off the map and drop it in the chat area.

The monument now magically floats back to its original position!

Thank you so much. There is definitely an art to this. I was able to do some stacking; it will take some dedicated time and practice to make it look “clean”.
I love seeing precisely stacked cities that form beautiful pictures and show huge dedication, planning and commitment by their creators, and I can see the attraction in learning to stack and make complex designs to represent the player (not that I think it’s something I’d do)
But I also appreciate seemingly chaotic, organic cities which if you look closely have a story to tell too, possibly unintentionally - like this with it’s series of diamond shaped neighbourhoods clustered around a two diamond interlocked heart

But I was never one for the Abstract. 
Abstract art is art that does not represent an accurate depiction of visual reality.
I’ll admit the “land” she had been given was too small but the buildings were tastefully selected. If you imagine a walk thriough the streets in Vancity’s city, it will be amazing
lets keep the forum clean and healthy, we dont have to like each other, we dont have to agree with each other, but respect for our community and its members should always come first, hence the age old adage, “ principles before personalities “
