Honeymoon period

How do you use it? I know it’s something to do with the first few days you have a new building? Do you click every time they have coins or do you hold off? TY for your help.

As I understand it, your treasure boxes (the ones that are timed) are powered by your entire city–that is, the total value of your city. Adding buildings adds to the total overall value. The greater the total value of your city, the greater the value of your treasure box prizes (coins, charms, passes, gems) .

That said, the “Honeymoon Period” gives a temporary boost to the value of your new building or monument, thus temporarily boosting the overall value of your city. By consistently adding buildings and evolving monuments, you can consistently artificially boost the value of your city and hopefully obtain greater rewards from your timed treasure boxes.

Night Guy, Steve Sunset, and others have written a lot of good advice on this topic. Check out “Helpful tips for beginners” and “Advanced building Discussion” on this forum.

Hope this helps, Tweety.

Thank you @Smiling Jim.
So @Night Guy, how would I sequence the HMP if I want my end result to be one L4 (tier21)?
I would use your example from Jan 19th’s Tips and Tricks for Beginners and Veterans which reads as follows:
L4 Monument 80,000 (1 x L3) + (14 x T14)
or alternately,
8 x L3
Thank you in advance!

I’m curious what you mean by sequence the HMP, is it controllable?

thank-you for the advice, should you click your buildings everytime you see coins or should you only do this once a day?

Hi Eddi, I believe it to be on a timer lasting four days (edit: four days for buildings, two days for monuments, supposedly) and the “power” of the HMP diminishing by the day (doesn’t stay constant). In theory you don’t want to evolve the buildings you buy too early allowing one to take advantage of said HMP. Or said another way, and I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong, the idea is to constantly build and evolve on a daily basis, even if only one or two buildings/monuments at a time. I hope that helps!

HI Tweety…it depends on how much you have invested in your city (in coins). In the early stages you will want to wait a 24hr period between collections, and as your city becomes more advanced (invested coins/gems), one will want to collect as much as three times daily to best take advantage of the green box generation of your city. There is a table that helps demonstrate at what level your city is, in coins/gems terms. At one point your city reaches a terminal point where your treasure boxes will yield just about the same whether you choose a short or long dated timer. Again, I’m sure someone will correct me if I’ve offered incorrect information. Hope that helps some!

TYVM @Smiling_Jim ! That was an Amazing Explaination! The GemValue of your City dictates the Rewards you receive here. CW does not care about the Buildings/Monunents in your City! CW cares about the GemValue of your City! We ALL receive the same Multiplier every day when we Collect our Coins/GreenPrizes, the VALUE is the set by CW and is the SAME for ALL. It does matter how you Collect them, 6.8.12.24.36.48Hrs, WE ALL Recieve the SAME according to our Cities GemVALUE.!

The HMP is a Special Incentive Reward given to City Builders and Evolvers. The more Gems you are able Invest in your City Building and Evolving, the more the Value of the Rewards you recieve from your CityCoin/GreenPirze Collect and your TreasureBox. The MAIN thing is THAT you BUILD, NOT WHAT you BUILD!

The HMP also makes sure you can NOT make a MISTAKE and mis-calculate. The HMP is used by CW to “Level the Playing Field” so to speak. For Example…. This Question was Answered by CW!

This made me understand “CW Math” is 100% FAIR for ALL!

This also means, when you OverPay for “Upgrading” a Building, CW will give you HMP to make sure you will not lose 1Coin of Value for those Gems you Invested in your City!

Try to use the HMP as a CONSTANT way to Advance here! Learn to Manipulate it. Build/Evolve Daily. Keep a GemReserve so you can develop a ConstantBuildingProgram over a week. Soon you can double your Investment. And Double and Double! That little snowball rolling off that mountain will GROW!

Today, after 2 1/2 Years, My City of FUN!!! is an “AVALANCHE”! I am VERY HAPPY with MY CITY! I can say I have spent LESS $$$$ on Gems than NG.

At this moment, I do not have L4 Monuments in MY CITY. In the Beginning, I TRULY thought there was NO WAY (1) L4 could could BEAT (8)L3s on the VALUE of Coins/GreenPrizes! Then the 100Coins OR a GreenPrize Info came out! That FACT showed me the ULTIMATE “Level the Playing” and “FAIR” to ALL on CW! The GemValue of you City is ALL that MATTERS not the Buildings you CHOOSE to adorn it with!

Today, I Continue my concept a ConstantBuildingProgram and MY Attempt to Manipulate the HMP! I use the CityRankings to do this. I do not have to do ANY Math to see this? CW does it for US!

TODAY…..I “LOVE” being Representated by MY CrownReward1 “Tree of Riches” Building! A L4 will RUIN that? When CW allows us to have a Favorite Building instead of CWs Concept of “Most Valueable”, I may Evolve some L4s.

Just have FUN!!!

@Stevesunset , I think it’s great that you’re happy with your city….but why does it matter what you spent versus some other? Isn’t that to each his or her own?

Here is a quick example of HMP that even new folks can do.

Buy tier 6 buildings each day for 50 gems each. (I usually buy 6). I try to rotate 5 different types so I can keep track. I put them in storage so the oldest ones are listed first.

5 days after you buy them, convert 2 tier buildings to tier 7 (L1) monuments. Then you enjoy more HMP for the monument.

As you grow you can keep upgrading.
Convert a L1 monument to L2 (tier 10) by adding 9 other L1 monuments.(or 900 gems of buildings)
When you really grow, you can go to L3 and L4 monuments.

Notice in the picture is my storage of 5 days worth of tier 6 buildings (sorted oldest first.) The last 4 are still in HMP because they have early coin collection opportunity,. I could convert the 6 High Poker Bldgs to 3 L1 monuments, because they are 5 days old and out of HMP.

Thank you, @Eddi_Bets.
I just read Elanor’s explanation of HMP, which is very helpful, Thank you Elanor! I know I will have more questions, and, as always, I learn so much!

Thank you, @Elanor.
So do you HMP when you keep upgrading? For example, when you Convert your L1 monument to L2 (tier 10) by adding 9 other L1 Monuments, do you HMP those for 2 days? or another 4 days?

Hey Papa,
I think you are correct in that’s how it works time wise.
Maybe it’s the way I read it, but I read @Mrs_Lindie question as if you could control what the HMP rewards you with.
Aren’t only gem rewards from the boxes able to contribute to having the buildings needed to make a Tier 23 monument? Surely that’s essentially random based on the contents of the treasure boxes offered for you to pop

I try to track of what happens in my city, I keep a record of what I buy and when I buy it but I haven’t kept a parallel record of what CW rewards me with.

@Mrs_Lindie I actually save new monuments at least 4 days as well. I know it’s been said that HMP may be only 2 days for monuments, but I notice there is still early coin collection opportunity on them.

Thank you, @Elanor. That’s what I was wondering.

Hello @Mrs_Lindie,

What @Smiling_Jim posted is spot on. To build on that, here are a few building sequences to help evolve to a Level 4 (Tier 23) Monument.

@Elanor, that’s a nice and simple method you’ve shared to stagger purchases, especially helpful for newer players!

@Tweety2352, @papa_meester gave a great, detailed answer. To keep it simple, collecting once every 24 hours is a solid strategy that works well for most players. The most important thing is to be consistent so you can collect from all your buildings around the same time each day. As your city grows, you can collect more frequently to maximize your green prize boxes.

@Eddi_Bets, you are right that the rewards from treasure boxes are random. The sequence I’ve laid out is the specific path I follow to spend my gems to build the needed monuments for a Tier 23.

@papa_meester, well said. You hit the nail on the head with “to each his or her own.” As long as everyone is having fun, they’re playing the game the right way.

There are different paths depending on whether your goal is to maximize the Honeymoon Period (HMP) for rewards or to maximize your chances of getting a rare monument. Below are three different methods you can use.

Important Notes:

  • For these strategies to work, it’s best to purchase and collect from buildings around the same time each day.
  • If you are low on gems and need to skip a day, you can. Just be sure to add the number of days you skipped to all the following steps. For example, if you have to skip Day 3, then the action for Day 5 now happens on Day 6.

Comparison of Monument Building Strategies

Feature Method 1: Maximize HMP Method 2: Maximize Rares Method 3: Hybrid Approach
Primary Goal Maximize HMP rewards from buildings. Maximize the chance of creating a rare monument. A balance between HMP and getting a rare monument.
Approx. Timeline 11 Days Variable 11 Days
Gem Cost ~80,000 ~80,000 ~80,000
Advantage Most efficient for gaining HMP rewards. Highest chance of getting a specific rare monument. A good balance of speed and rare monument chance.
Disadvantage Lowest chance for a rare monument. Slowest method and less efficient for HMP. A compromise, hybrid approach.

Method 1: Maximize HMP

This method uses a staggered purchasing schedule to get the most out of the HMP from regular especially higher cost buildings.

Day Action Buildings & Cost
Day 1 Purchase starting buildings. 2x Tier 6 (100 Gems)
Days 1-3 Purchase more buildings. 1x Tier 9, 2x Tier 8 (900 Gems)
Day 5 Create a Level 1 Monument. Use the 2x Tier 6 buildings.
Days 5-7 or earlier Purchase higher-tier buildings. All at once or staggered to this date. 1x T10, 1x T13, 1x T14 (9,000 Gems)
Day 7 Evolve to a Level 2 Monument. Use the L1 Monument, 1x T9, and 2x T8.
Day 7 or earlier Purchase final set of buildings. All at once or staggered to this date. 4x T16, 1x T15 (70,000 Gems)
Day 9 Evolve to a Level 3 Monument. Use the L2 Monument, 1x T10, 1x T13, and 1x T14.
Day 11 Evolve to a Level 4 Monument. Use the L3 Monument, 4x T16, and 1x T15.

This is a linear path focused on evolving a single monument line while staggering building purchases to maximize rewards. Here are the sequences represented as timelines to make the flow of actions and purchases clearer.

Day 1 ━━▶ Purchase 2x T6 Buildings (100 Gems)

Day 1-3 ━▶ Purchase 1x T9 & 2x T8 Buildings (900 Gems)

Day 5 ━━▶ Evolve T6s into L1 Monument

Day 5-7 ━▶ Purchase 1x T10, 1x T13, & 1x T14 (9,000 Gems)

Day 7 ━━▶ Evolve L1 into L2 Monument (using T8s, T9)
┃ ┗━▶ Purchase 4x T16 & 1x T15 (70,000 Gems)

Day 9 ━━▶ Evolve L2 into L3 Monument (using T10, T13, T14)

Day 11 ━▶ Evolve L3 into L4 Monument (using T15, T16s)

Method 2: Maximize Rare Monument Chance

This strategy focuses on creating many Level 1 Monuments, as this is the only stage where a rare monument can be created. The total cost is approximately 80,000 Gems.

Phase Action Details
1. Create L1 Monuments Purchase T6 buildings and convert them. On Day 1, purchase 20x Tier 6 buildings (1,000 Gems). On Day 5, use them to create 10x L1 Monuments.
2. Create L2 Monuments Evolve L1 Monuments into L2s. On Day 7, combine one L1 with 9 other L1s. Repeat until you have 10x L2 Monuments.
3. Create L3 Monuments Evolve L2 Monuments into L3s. Combine one L2 with 9 other L2s. Repeat until you have 8x L3 Monuments.
4. Create L4 Monument Perform the final evolution to L4. Three days after the L3s are complete, combine one L3 with 7 other L3s.

This is a batch-processing path focused on creating many low-level monuments first. The timeline is more flexible. Here are the sequences represented as timelines to make the flow of actions and purchases clearer.

(START)

[ Purchase 20x T6 Buildings ]

[ Day 5: Create 10x L1 Monuments ] :reverse_button:══ RARE MONUMENT CHANCE!

[ Day 7: Evolve 10x L1 into 1x L2 Monument ]

[ Repeat above steps until you have 10 total L2 Monuments ]

[ Evolve 10x L2 into 1x L3 Monument ]

[ Repeat until you have 8 total L3 Monuments ]

[ 3 Days Later: Evolve 8x L3 into 1x L4 Monument ]

(FINISH)

Method 3: Hybrid Approach

This sequence merges the two methods above to balance HMP benefits with the chance of getting a rare monument.

Day Action Buildings & Cost
Day 1 Purchase starting buildings. 20x Tier 6 (1,000 Gems)
Day 5 Create Level 1 Monuments. Use the 20x T6 to make 10x L1 Monuments. This is your chance for a rare monument.
Day 5 or earlier Purchase more buildings. All at once or staggered to this date. 1x T10, 1x T13, and 1x T14 (9000 Gems)
Day 7 Evolve to a Level 2 Monument. Use one L1 Monument and the other 9x L1 Monuments.

This path starts with batch-processing for a chance at rares, then switches to the linear evolution path. Here are the sequences represented as timelines to make the flow of actions and purchases clearer.

Day 1 ━━▶ Purchase 20x T6 Buildings (1,000 Gems)

Day 5 ━━ :play_button: Create 10x L1 Monuments :reverse_button:══ RARE MONUMENT CHANCE!
┃ ┗━▶ Purchase T10, T13, & T14 (9,000 Gems)

Day 7 ━━▶ Evolve 10x L1 into a single L2 Monument
┃ ┗━▶ Purchase 4x T16 & 1x T15 (70,000 Gems)

Day 9 ━━▶ Evolve L2 into L3 Monument (using T10, T13, T14)

Day 11 ━▶ Evolve L3 into L4 Monument (using T15, T16s)

Congratulations, you’ve made a Cosmic Celestial Forge (L4 Monument)!

Sort of a sidebar question I guess but, do you know if you use a rare monument in the mix whilst evolving a non-rare monument do you risk your new monument turning out as a rare one? I know I’m supposed to want the rare ones but visually I prefer the blues and greens. I think I have 8 of the first level yellow monuments cluttering up my storage and haven’t dared use them.

Hey @Mrs_Lindie! Just a heads-up, I’ve added more details and timelines to my post. It’s a work in progress since I’m doing this from memory (lol), so I’ll keep tweaking it. Check in once in a while to see what’s new!

Hello @Eddi_Bets, that’s a great question! You don’t have to worry - you can’t accidentally create a rare monument through evolving. A monument’s rarity is set only when it’s first made. If you start with a rare monument, it will stay rare when you evolve it, but you can’t turn a regular one into a rare one.
