I just had a thought about evolving. We all end up with rare monuments we don’t particularly want. Wouldn’t it be a cool mechanic if we could use those spare rares to ‘infuse’ a regular monument and turn it into a rare one during ‘evolving’?
Cool, thanks so I could have a clear out.
Thanks for sharing your strategy, it’s very interesting, however, based on the gems I acquire from the challenge walk and my TBs it’d probably take me a while longer than 11 days …….. but I’ll get there.
@Eddi_Bets, it is a grind, take your time. The timeline is flexible. The main goal is to follow the sequence of evolutions to build the L4 monument. The strict schedule is only for those who want to do it quickly with pre-saved/purchased gems while optimizing the HMP.
@Night_Guy On your methods 2,3: I would probably wait until day 5 to convert the T6 buildings. I want to get all the HMP possible.
Also, it might make sense to stagger the 70000 gem purchase to maximize days of being in the HMP.
I’ve always been a slow grower, and my city is now worth 2.2 million gems, with a lot of rare monuments.
last point: if you see early coin collection opportunity (ECCO), those buildings are still in HMP, like the 42 I have now.
Good catch, @Elanor, and thank you! I’ve updated the post to fix that.
That’s a key strategy you mentioned. It’s definitely a good idea to stagger large purchases to prolong the HMP. An alternative, more event-focused strategy is to save gems specifically for the Treasure Box speedup period. By timing your 15-20 day build to happen during the speedup, you can maximize the treasure box rewards.
Thank you, @Night_Guy. How do I view your details/timelines to your post?
How do keep up with which buildings to evolve on which day?
@Mrs_Lindie: The timeline diagram I mentioned is the second text-based diagram you’ll find under each method table; it’s just another way to visualize the building/evolving process.
@Nunya: An easy way to keep track is to use different areas of your city as placeholders for each step. For example, you can group all “Step 1” buildings in one location, “Step 2” in another, and so on.
@Nunya, to build on @Night_Guy ‘s comment, it may also help to utilize the drop-down in the Monument Building screen (in the upper right-hand corner) and select “Date Added Oldest” to assist in avoiding selecting a unit still in a Honeymoon Period.
Thank you, @Smiling_Jim, for the suggestion on the drop-down in the Monument Building screen!
Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll give it a go and see if I can keep up!!!
Thank you. I’ll use this suggestion also.
I thank all of you for the awesome information for working on your city, but for me, it’s information overload, lol. I’ll just keep building at my steady pace, every 4-5 days, evolving what I can. I’ve been on here about 4 years and so far, I’ve done fairly well. It doesn’t matter to me if I’m top of my group, number one in the charts, or crown level 120, as long as my boxes give me enough gems and party passes to build and share a little at parties, I’m good. I play to have fun and make friends, which is the most important to me.
hello friends I’m just curious how one would aquire 80000 gems?? To purchase 54000 gems costs 500usd I have a pretty good city ..I think so anyway I’ve only been playing for 60 days now I guess I just have to be patient,Rome wasn’t built in a day!! this is my city ,feel free to help me with pointers and such .not just with my city but all games, parties ,charms, tips and tricks and how to aquire 80k in gems lol so I can start getting gems in my treasure box
Do you mean in order to make a level 23 monument?
I do it gradually by saving treasure box and reward path gems to buy 10,000 gem buildings one at a time (in the HMP that type of building will usually get at least one TB with gems) until I have 7 that I am willing to give up to evolve a level 15 monument. I’m not in a financial position to be bulk buying gems so it’s a fairly slow process but I try to maximise my city earnings to keep it going
Looks like you’ve been purchasing =/< tier 6 buildings to create monuments. Hold off on purchasing gems until double-gem day. That way, you’ll get twice the gems for the money. Add higher tier buildings as your budget allows but prepare to sacrifice them when evolving your monuments.
so I evolved most of my T7 monuments today I had got 8 T10 monuments and I spent most of my day buying more buildings to turn into more T7 monuments I’ve got about 250 new buildings that are in the HMP …now my question is should I be letting the buildings sit idle or should I be collecting the coins and green boxes as much as possible from the HMP buildings ? normally I would have evolved the buildings into monuments, but I’m going to wait until the hmp phase ends…my plan is to keep buying T6 buildings until I don’t have any more room in the next few days and then I’ll evolved them into T7 monuments again until there isn’t any more space and then repeat the whole process
@axieaboutme I by T8 (City Hotel) buildings and create the monuments every 3 days. I evolve my monuments after 2 days (2 days after purchasing new T8 to create)
Once I have enough L7, then I evolve them into L10. Enough of those, then Evolve to L15 and then only L23.
I collect my coins and green prizes every 24 hours. This is what i find has worked for me so far.
I also buy City Hotels in pairs to create a Level 1 monuments (tier 7 building equivalent) but I tend to evolve using buildings rather than collecting enough monuments to do it. I have no idea if it benefits me or not BUT in my head switching 1 Level 1 monument & 2 Tier 8 plus 1 tier 9 building is better for my green box returns than sacrificing 10 Level 1 monuments.
Similarly evolving 1 Level 2 monument plus 3 Tier 13 buildings feels better than 10 Level 2 monuments.
When I plan evolving a Level 3 to a Level 4 monument I build up my Tier 15 buildings. I’ve not progressed to Tier 16 buildings essentially because the math doesn’t work cleanly for me
And yes I know the bottom line is the overall value of the city and that either way the gem value of a city remains the same when evolving monuments - it’s just what suits my logic
Newly purchased buildings are said to have a 4 day honeymoon period.
Newly built monuments are said to have a 2 day honeymoon period.
So what is recommended to try to do is buy new buildings each day (or every other day). Having a continuous source of buildings in their HMP, then after the 4 days of the cycle you choose, evolve them to the next monument, then if you have enough of those monuments after 2 days evolve to the next monument. By trying to keep a buying cycle going, then evolving within this same cycle, you regularly have new buildings in HMP and you have Monuments in HMP. Hope this makes sense. It appears from your message you are on this path.
