totally confused on evolving .. sorry I know its been asked

so maybe the last couple weeks or so as I get more into this . I have bought 9 , tier 7 buildings each day , sometimes more .. 100 gems cost per building. So once I got them built up I evolved or traded or what4eve we want to call it . 9 of them into a tier 10 building . Done this quite a few times .. BUT today , it wont let me and I have like 80 or so tier 7 buildings , the gold lions, Italian eatery and so on buildings , and I cant change them into 10 ‘s like I have been ??? I have no clue why . I did it before and now that I have like 80 of them , id like to evolve them , but when I hit evolve like I have many times before, only tier 10’s are shown available .. NONE of the 80 or so of tier 7 ‘s. totally confused

If I am understanding correctly, you need at least 1 L1 monument plus 9 T7 to evolve to the L2 monument. I didn’t think you could use just T7 to evolve to the L2.

think I might understand now .. I was thinking of not buying tier 6 ‘s anymore .. Just buying tier 7 ‘s . J\So I guess when I ran out of 7 ‘s. that came from 6 ‘ s even though I had scores that I bought, I cant evolve ..Guess I need to do 6’s again

Yes, you can only do the first level of monument directly from buildings all the other levels of monuments are evolved from the preceding one and only with specific tiers of building. I think it goes, level 1 to level 2 is tiers 7, 8 & 9; level 2 to level 3 is tiers 10 - 14 and level 3 to level 4 is tiers 14 to 16

Yes. Buy some more T6 and make L1 monuments out of them, then you can use those L2 with the T7’s.

I turn my 6’s into 7’s and my 7’s into 10’s. I didn’t even realize there was such a thing as a 9!!

I purchase multiple tier 6 (City-View Hotel) and make sure i have them 2 at a time. Often I will buy 30-40 of them. Then, wait 3 days to create a monument (Honey Moon Period where they will pay out more). After using them to “create” a monument to a L1 (T7) Monument, I will again let then sit for 2 days before evolving them. After I have created the monuments (L1) I will again add more City-View hotels to keep the evolution going and ensure my HMP is always active.

There is SO much information on these forums. I learned most of my building abilities from @Night_Guy and @Muddy_Waters

Tier 9 applies to building levels not monument ones.

My usual building route starts with 2 x Tier 6 buildings (usually City View Hotels) to make a level 1 monument.
When I want to evolve a Level 1 monument, I use 2 x Tier 8 plus 1 Tier 9 (2 Penthouse hotels & 1 Midnight Bowl).
To evolve a Level 2 monument to a level 3 I use 3 x Ocean Domes which are Tier 13 buildings
To take a Level 3 monument to a level 4, I use whatever I have available in Tier 14 or 15 buildings and/or level 3 monuments in my storage. (I don’t own any Tier 16 buildings)

In a way it doesn’t matter which buildings or monuments you use just it’s the levels or rather the equivalent gem value that matters
Level 1 monuments cost 100 gems to make because they’re worth 100 gems, a Level 2 costs 1000 gems to make because it’s worth 1000 gem, a Level 3 costs 10,000 gems and a Level 4 costs 80,000 gems
