I buy buildings to evolve monuments with rather than only using monuments because for most of the month I don’t have the gems to buy big but as importantly my building count and therefore the potential for green boxes reduces by smaller numbers in L1 to 2 and L2 to 3 evolutions. For Level 1 monuments I use 1 Midnight Bowl & 2 Penthouse hotels and for Level 2 monuments I use 3 Ocean Domes. It also means I just buy the same type replacement buildings and don’t have to redesign very much

After getting Charms my first two Crowns since then I have nothing to complain about. Crown 10 was 26K Gems. Four of my ten were gems, three for 20+ They’re all on my profile.
But I know Charms are going to come around again eventually. I expect it each one so I’m not too disappointed.

Made CL 38 tonight and got 12k gems as my reward. While I wished it was more, I’m still happy to get gems this time

I just finished CL105 … since CL 95, I’ve received several charms (some twice in a row) and some nice buildings, but no gems at all! That’s been my average all along on CW … about 1 gem pack reward every 10-11 CLs. I figure CW just doesn’t like me cuz even when I rarely get gems for a CL, I usually get only 5K-15K. I think I got more than 25K only once or twice in 105 CLs. For the many CW players who have received gem rewards 2-5 CLs in a row, enjoy your good luck! For myself, I’ve stopped buying gems … if CW is going to be chinchy with my CL rewards, I won’t be buying any gems anymore!

Just got a measly 12K gems for my latest Crown. Previous gem awards were 28, 24, 30, 20, 22, 20, 28 and 24. Only 12K this time 
Today I got my Crown 5, and like you, it was 12K in Gems. My Crown 3 was 16K Gems.
Got an AI Cube for CL 169. Pays out over 5 BILLION in blackjack. Woo Hoo. I couldn’t be happier.
Got a Jubilee Tower Building for Crown 7. HUGE jump in my treasure box/city coins payouts, so I’m happy to have gotten a building. (Even if the effect lasts only 4 days)

12K gems seems to be the gem prize of this phase of crown rewards. I too got 12K gems for my latest crown 38 on 04/06.
The week before that a friend of mine got 24k gems for crown 83. Another friend, after a long dry spell with no gem rewards, got 22k gems on 04/01, 20k gems on 04/15, and 12k gems on 04/19.
Previously most of my crown gem rewards have been in the 20k range. My lowest rewards were 5k for Crown 2, 10k for Crown 5, and the 12k for Crown 38. Highest were 30k rewards for Crown 22 and 24.
Today for my Crown 6 reward I got the Monolith Building Charm (8 clover charm). Hopefully it will pay out well if i get a good hand on 3-card poker.
As I near crown 150 I’ve noticed as others have above the gem rewards have started to lag behind over the last few months, statistically significant? don’t know… will they catch up? also don’t know… maybe the 33% each chance has been tweaked.
CL 65 - Crystal Mountain Bldg, CL 66 - 28K gems, CL 67 - Treasure Orb Bldg, CL 68 30K gems, and got CL 69 last night - 22K gems. Loving the gems, but don’t mind the buildings either.

CROWN 11 put me in the trillionaire’s club! Along with 30K Gems! I expect the Charms to start coming any level now. But that’s OK. Check out my profile. I can’t complain.
