I will definitely keep that in mind. Your advice is very much appreciated @Eddi_Bets
That’s why my parties are always GnG. No one is made to have to do anything, other than collect the charms from the party. Once they do, they are free to stay and toss or go. No pressure. I have had parties where the charms are collected and everyone leaves in seconds! That’s how it should go with GnG parties.
Like @Polina4 said, I too won’t go to a party where people are forced to toss or be under the control of a host or other attendees. I’m here to have fun and enjoy that fun with others.
Lol i went to a “toss charms”, names called party and i tossed what they said , then the Host called my name again, i said i already tossed, others also said i did but the host said i didnt so i got the boot. Wasted hundreds of gems for nothing, ive never gone back to a “toss” party again, and never will lol.
I think this is often just a case of mismatched expectations. It is always a good idea to check the full Party Details, as ‘Blitz’ or toss required parties usually have specific rules listed that aren’t in the title.
I believe I know the hosts you are referring to (they are actually nice people once you get to know them). While getting snapped at is never fun, I suspect it comes from burnout rather than malice. They have been dealing with the same issue for 4+ years, so their patience is likely just very short. It probably isn’t personal, just frustration from the repetition.
@CaptainCrow That can definitely be confusing! There is an unwritten rule in ‘names called’ parties. The reason that happens is usually because the host and attendees needs to verify the toss after calling your name to mark it off. If you toss early, it would count as a random toss and not part of the round. It’s just the specific way those parties operate.
I waited for my name to be called, i think it was just a mistake by that host, sadly i payed the price, but it was a lesson learned thats for sure lol!!!
In that case, it sounds like a trigger-happy host! Lol. Bummer that it happened, though.
I know some of the people who host those parties also and you are right they are nice people with good personalities, but i still don’t approve the “names called” rule. Of course it’s their own party and they can do whatever they want, but it doesn’t create a friendly environment. They can always do a blitz party and noone will say anything. But that’s just my opinion.
Lesson learned…don’t go again lol
Spot on, @Polina4. Ultimately, it is their party and they have the right to run it however they see fit. We don’t have to agree with their rules to respect their right to set them. I’m with you on the ‘names called’ style - it’s never been my cup of tea either - but everyone has their own way of doing things.
Well im easy going so i forgive easily lol, i dont hold grudges i just wont attend those parties, problem solved lol.
I wish CW offered a different mechanism to remove people from parties. Blocking is harsh and offers no path for redemption. CaptainCrow may never get to know the nice people you speak of. I also long for a mute button to silence some who can’t resist spewing political opinions.
I agree. The toss parties are tense and generally not very fun. They also cause a lot of alienation and sour feelings. GNG or blitzes ensure equitable contributions.
When I see a “toss” party, well, i just toss it to the side and attend another one LOL!
I like this post and so many great responses. When I first started on CW in early 2020, people who just stood in the back of the room were being blocked. I suppose it could have been linked back to not contributing charms. Back then, we had only one type of party and some hosts and other attendees had their own ideas about how parties should be run. When we got the three types of parties, that leveled out somewhat, but as pointed out in other comments here, we still have some who draw lines in weird places and expect everybody to comply. I have blocked a few in my time on here, but never for where attendees landed upon joining my party or whether or not they tossed charms. I really don’t care about party charms. I love others’ GNG parties when the hosts don’t care, either. For those who want to spend their gems on party charms, I can suggest that they go to blitz parties and spend all the gems they want. As for Party Busters with names called, I don’t get it. Blitz was designed for that. Blitz parties force everybody to contribute. If it’s set up just right, they will all fill the mandatory requirements and it’ll just be a done deal already. I will close by saying good luck and good GNG!
**I host a lot. I only do blitz parties I don’t allow bullying. My parties are as low as 2 gems to come. And everyone is welcome. I never exclude people, and I want to make sure to give everyone the opportunity to come. Some don’t get a lot of passes or gems, so I try to make sure to host fair parties. Always open to suggestions, just inbox me.As far what other host do or believe they want to host, thats their choice I respect them all
P.S. to my earlier response about reasons for blocking:
Remember that anybody you block, even for frivolous reasons, cannot help you fill the parties you host and receive the charms from the cover charge. I suggest that all frivolous blockers quit fiddly dinkin’ around and block wisely. Where an avatar stands? Plptpltplt! What an avatar wears? Plptpltplt! Whether anybody contributes or not in a party when it is not otherwise specified and expected? Plptpltplt! When someone is making vulgar comments? Now block! If someone is chasing another around the room after he or she has told them to stop? Block! Various other truly nasty or mean actions? Block!
Happy CW Gaming!
Some people, it seems, get a power trip from blocking others. Oh, well.
Sorry that happened to you CathyLee, sometimes you’re not even aware its a mandatory throw party, like when you respond to an invitation, it doesn’t tell you. It happened to me too, and I was called out too, as I was not paying attention and did not realize they were calling names. It was rather embarrassing.
There is an Avatar here that’s been blocking me for the past 5 years. I have no idea why or what caused it and it really doesn’t matter because its the Blocker’s problem, not mine. There are so many kind, good people on CW, that it matters little about the ones who are not nice. So, don’t take it personally and enjoy the camaraderie. CW is big fun!
I agree with you 100% @MamaDuke_n_Brady . I have met some of the most absolutely amazing and kind ppl here on CW. Many on this forum alone, but many in parties and friend requests as well. I love CW. So addicted!
