The Real Value of Hosting: Presence, Participation, and Party Etiquette

Hey everyone,

I’d like to share some thoughts about hosting parties in CW- why frequent hosting can be great for the community and why “hoarding” doesn’t really apply, especially for hosted (host-shows) parties.

1. Hosting = Community, Not Exclusivity

Hosting isn’t about taking over - it’s about bringing people together. Your presence builds connection, engagement, and community spirit - not division.

2. This Isn’t a Zero-Sum Game

In zero-sum thinking, one person’s win is another’s loss. But here, hosting more doesn’t limit others; it adds more options. When someone hosts, everyone benefits from more opportunities to play.

3. Your Presence Makes the Party

Parties where the host is present are vibrant and trustworthy. Being active keeps the energy alive and encourages players to come back.

4. No-Host Parties Drain the Fun

When the host doesn’t show up, the party time still blocks out slots that others could’ve used - it’s passive crowding. That absence drains engagement and can feel spammy or disrespectful to the community.

5. Overflow = Interest, Not Monopoly

Seeing up to 20 overflows? That’s just strong demand - not greed. It means people are excited to join and are choosing your sessions because they’re engaging and inclusive.

6. Clearing Up Misunderstandings

I’ve received feedback suggesting I’m greedy and “hoarding” parties - even though I only host eight per week (4 on Saturday, 4 on Sunday), and often run multiple overflows 30+ minutes past schedule. One person even speculated I must be affiliated with CW because my parties happen so closely together within an hour. But that framing treats hosting like a limited resource - and it’s not. Hosting is optional, open to everyone - it’s meant to be an opportunity, not something withheld.

7. Outliers Exist - But That’s a Different Conversation

Of course, there are occasional outlier behaviors - like persistent no-shows or disruptive attendance patterns - that impact the community. Those deserve their own conversation and should be handled sensitively and thoughtfully.

TL;DR Table

Principle Why It Matters
Hosting = Generosity Welcoming players, not excluding them
Hosting ≠ Hoarding More hosting = more opportunities, not fewer
Presence Wins Energizes the party and builds trust
Absence Hurts Community No-host parties waste slots that could’ve served others, damaging engagement
Overflow = Engagement Indicates demand - players are choosing to be there
Hosting Is Inclusive It’s open to anyone - it’s about creating, not restricting

In short: Hosting parties is about opening doors, not closing them. A successful party is one where you’re present and creating energy - not just setting up a slot. Let’s keep our community lively, welcoming, and inclusive.

If anyone ever feels overshadowed or just wants to chat about hosting ideas, my door’s always open. Community thrives on honest, open conversation.

with all due respect Night Guy, you really missed the boat on a number of important issues regarding parties.. for example, GNG parties are now one of if not the most popular parties on the party board.. they started on 7 Seas and became so popular there, Flowplay brought them to Casino World, a lot of GnG parties cuz of their nature, have no hosts, they are a huge benefit to the sites and their respect communities..by suggesting that a no host party drains the fun factor and takes a time slot is both wrong and counter intuitive to providing variety to the party board… someone of your stature and influence should have given this more thought.. the numbers dont back up your suggestion that gng no host parties have no room for our community.. the value of no host gng’s are enormous.. first and foremost it eliminates the stigma of having to toss for those that are less fortunate, this in turn creates a by-product of eliminating bullying by those that pick on those that dont toss… im sure someone of your immense knowledge and experience forgot this assessment when you wrote this post.. we all value your knowledge and most of us including myself look up to you as a role model..otherwise im sure i speak for most if not all of us on Casino World we all appreciate your time and willingness to help others, keep up the good work dear friend and long time mentor

with my limited resources and limited time to spend here on Casino World, no host GnG’s are the perfect fit for my game at the moment. I play on 7 Seas too and no host GnG’s are not just the most popular parties on 7 Seas but all of Flowplay Sites including their Flagship site Vegas World. I agree with Vegas Lady too on the aspect that no host GnG’s almost completely eliminate bullying from those that pick on others for not tossing.. Flowplays decision to add no host GnG’s to the Casino World party board speaks volumes about their merit, value and usefullness to our Site communities

Thank you both for your thoughtful feedback - I really appreciate your insights.

Let me clarify: I’m not against GNG (Grab-and-Go) parties at all - these formats can complement hosted events excellently, offering flexibility and low pressure access for players. In fact, back in the old forum I was the one who first recommended adding GNG and Blitz style parties to CW back when Party Busters were our only format. I felt that naming specific attendance (or “name called” parties) created a more formal, tense atmosphere. Blitz style and GNG formats diffuse that tension with variety and openness. It’s been gratifying to watch them thrive across FlowPlay platforms - 7 Seas, Vegas World, and now CW - because they truly add more options to our party culture.

That said, here’s my viewpoint: if you’re posting any type of party, it’s considered at least by me- to be best practice that you actually attend the main, even if only briefly. Dropping in at the start brings energy and shows you’re present for your community, but if you’re not able to join at all, I think that’s less respectful toward players’ expectations. Of course if life circumstances prevent attendance, that’s absolutely understandable.

These are just my personal thoughts - shared with humility, not as a mandate. I very much value all party styles and hosting approaches, and I hope this adds constructively to our shared culture here in CW.

@Night_Guy again with all due respect and humility, its not disrespectful or draining the fun at all to not show up to host a party, quite the contrary. Lots of people on this site, and others have asked me personally, as a request to post a party, not host but post a party on their behalf. As you already alluded too, people work, have domestic commitments that keep them away from attending the site. Peopê know this. As Im sure you quite unintentionally forgot, many people on here English is not their mother tongue, socializing with any host can be challenging at the best of times. Some are shut-ins or handicapped in some way, typing can be a chore greeting the host and other guests. Some yet dont feel comfortable in a group setting. Others fear they may be bullied, the list goes on and on.. A vibrant, healthy and respctful Community thrives on diversity and caters to all demographics.. For anyone to arbitrarily decide what is fun and what drains the energy level of a certain type of party is not only wrong, but in my humble opinion is also very disrespectful to the 100’s and 1000’s of patrons that attend and look forward to a non-hosted party regardless of its format..Again, I’m sure these mis-sights were but a lapse in focus and concentration. As you have already mentioned Parties offer invitation and opportunities for players, all parties.. not just selected parties.. Please if I may continue your impeccable game play, we all including myself appreciate the time effort and work you do to make Casino World a wonderful platform for all of us to enjoy

thank you @Mrs_Lindie … although I must add.. Fun is very subjective, so is what one might consider disrespectful or draining.. if you have had a bad day at work, fighting with your kids or spouse, etc, the last thing you want is to forced to do is attend a party where your expected to live up to someone elses expectations of what a party should or should not be..No Host Parties regardless of the format offer massive opportunities for those on the fly, having a bad day and just plain and simply are not in the mood to gather around a social setting..

I have long thought that anybody who disagrees with a no-host party and refuses to go just shoots him or herself in the foot by not taking advantage of the 25 charms per single entry fee. Without a host, it takes only one extra attendee in the host’s stead to make the party a success. For over 3 years, I posted 10 parties per day (early on, it was 14 a day) and probably averaged attending about half of them or so. When I first started posting bat parties, I couldn’t even afford to attend for lack of gems or party passes. My long-term intent was to push myself to be able to afford those parties. In the meantime, at least a few hundred players had those regularly scheduled parties to attend and gather the charms to help them advance in the casino games. I didn’t ever use the VIP only or friends only setting. My parties were always GNG and always open to anybody who could afford the openers (except a handful of players on blocked status). Now that I’m still on burnout, I do host the occasional party just on a challenge to host and attend. My parties remain GNG and open to all who can afford the openers when the party starts. “Party On!” –Wayne and Garth

Apologies if this is an odd question but did it not concern you that you were spending either 3 gems or 30,000 coins per party to host parties you couldn’t benefit from attending?

Typically with the Unicorn parties I throw (GnG), I like to always attend simply because 1: I want the ponies too! And 2: I like the social atmosphere of seeing others coming to them and enjoying themselves. I often try and make it humorous with different phrases i can come up with to bring a smile or giggle to someone’s day. That’s just me though. Each host is different.

Since back when I was a lowly billionaire on here, I haven’t cared that much about spending 30,000 coins to post a party. I can lose many more times that in many of the daily and monthly challenges to play certain games. Also, as an added plus when I can attend, I get an extra bat as host for each one I put for the entrance fee. In my 2-bat parties, I get the openers plus two extras for attending. Just the extras equals nearly about 9 million extra coins (2 bats x 4.4+ million) from the charms in play that the regular attendees don’t get. Just that extra would finance 300 new parties. Nah! I don’t mind paying 30,000 coins to post a party.

Variety and most importantly balance creates a vibrant and fun community. Parties regardless of whether they are hosted or not help all of us achieve our goals. 100’s 1000’s of members use and rely on no host parties to fulfill their needs. We are individuals with our own independent needs. Some of us dont want or need a host, we dont feel like talking, we’re not feeling well, we’re having a bad day, we dont feel like typing. Being able to show up at a no host party with zero expectations on the guests is both refreshing and fun for a lot of us. Why anyone on this site would arbitrarily want to exclude and alienate 100’s of 1000’s of host and guests that attend these useful no host parties is really quite beyond my comprehension. Now some host and guests will be made to feel that they are contributing to a passive aggressive sabotage of the party board, some will be made to feel that they are draining the fun out of this site. And quite simply that is just plain wrong… A balanced, diverse party community is one that thrives on catering to all members, not just some, but all.. A party community that posts parties for all demographics.. those that prefer hosted, non-hosted. Those that enjoy name call ( tag parties ). Those that enjoy Stay n Throw or plain Random Parties.. A healthy respectful fun vibrant party community finds a balance in patronizing all guests and their preferred preferences of party types.

My experience with either GnG or Buster parties (I rarely attend Blitz parties anymore) is that if there is no host, the party oftentimes does not fill. I tend to go to Nectar and Rocket parties, but I’ve found this to be a problem in most parties where there is no host. (Since I have insomnia, I’m often playing overnight - and yes - it’s hard to fill most parties in the dead of night!) Over time, I’ve learned it’s best for me to leave a slow filling, no host party to find a party with a host that is filling faster. Lol - Am I the only person who has this problem with no host parties??

Sometimes I’m in a party with a late attending host who complains that another host’s overflow party is competing with his party, making it harder for their party to fill up. Er no - the other party had a host present from the get-go, so it’s just filling up faster!

I’m not saying I never attend “No Host” parties, but if it’s filling too slowly, I always look around to find another 1100+ party with a host in attendance to check and see if it’s filling up while my no-host party is not! When you’re in a No Host party and you start to see people leaving, IMO, that’s what’s happening.

Also, I’ve found that some hosts, like Night Guy, are “popular hosts” whose parties typically fill whether they are present or not. I’d list the other popular hosts I know, but I don’t want anyone I accidentally leave off my list to be offended, so I won’t start listing them here. But u know who they are - if you don’t get into their party 2-3 minutes before it starts, you will most likely not get in at all!! Also, they usually have successful overflow parties afterwards - so I know if I hang in there in an o/f room, I will probably get my Nectars or Rockets anyway. I think the ‘popular hosts’ have built up so much ‘good will’ amongst us CW players or they throw such entertaining parties, that we tend to gravitate toward attending their parties more often than other host’s parties.

I want to give a special thanks to those Hosts who attend their own parties. Although I appreciate all hosts of parties, no matter what (since I rarely host my own parties - they deserve lots of thanks) - I especially appreciate those of you who take out time from playing on CW to host your own parties.

Then there are those other reasons why certain parties don’t fill fast. For ex, I used to throw my Nectar parties in Galactic Overlook, until someone told me that it wasn’t filling fast because Nectars we get in a Galactic Overlook room don’t pay out as well as Nectars we get while in a Bar Out of Time room?! I switched to using my Bar Out of Time, and voila, now it always fills much faster. Has anyone else noticed this for your other preferred charms?

In MY Opinion…..The REAL VALUE of Hosting/Attending is YOU get an Extra CHARM! LOL! Thats it! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :money_mouth_face: And NG has “Mastered” this concept to Advance here. He “Vowed” to make Unicorns “Famous”? to HELP US ALL and he did! :star_struck:

I personally Daily Hosted/Attended 10-14 X2 of MY “PonyLove” parties shortly after I arrive here on CW! Those Parties helped me get MY VIPLife Quickly! I Attended 99% of them. It was “Grueling” schedule to keep! :sob: I stopped doing those parties because they were “Messing” up my Mind, Having to be somewhere a Certain Time to get that Xtra Charm?

I LOVED Hosting Parties, I made MANY Friends doing it! Some are just “YellowStars”, but some are MORE?

Today, that has all changed!

I do not Host/Attend Parties unless on a Challenge now! But I know, if I want a Charm, I just make a PARTY? RIGHT? They will come? Any Time? Any Day? 30K to try? :money_mouth_face:

After 2+Years here my PartyPasses are exceeding my ability to use them! This is because I very seldom attend X5, X10 Parties! Those Parties have TOO MUCH of a RISK to “DILUTE” the Value of my Charms in Storage! :sob: I am at a point I do not care about Host/Attending I want X1,X2, and X3 Parties to ATTEND! I could care less about a Host?:money_mouth_face:

I saw a Profile before I came here to respond!

It was SM0KE!

So? This Moment, This Profile…Changed me here? Maybe?

This is a “YellowStar” Person (PartyFriend)? I went to see on a Game I was playing I Love! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I VOTE!

#1 RULE…No Same X# Charm at the Same Time Slot! I want X1,X2,X3!. I dont want X5 n X10 Parties to “DILUTE” my “StorageCharms”! :sob:

Let us go to the “WildWildWest” on Parties! HAVE SUPER FUN!!!. Let GOD sort it out? SEMPER FI FUN !!! ! I’m on 4nonblondes - whats up waves now?

How do you think x5 or x10 parties dilute your storage charms? Why wouldn’t x1,2,3 also dilute your charms if that particular party ends up paying on the lower end? Unfortunately not all parties (not even ones hosted regularly) pay out the same charm value within the party. It ends up luck of the draw.

A PartyCharm gets its value when you receive at the Party. If I go to a X10 Party, I am Risking 9500 Passes (Today) on 260Ponies? If I have 260 Ponies worth 26M per set of 5 (Verified and Tested on SparkPlug) in my Storage and that Party gives me 260Ponies worth 22M, SUDDENLY ALL MY Ponies are worth 24M? Going to Smaller Parties insures (in my mind) averaging does not destroy the value of my Charms in Storage? :money_mouth_face: And YES, LUCK of the DRAW Odds Average on 1X10 Value is less than 10X1 Value when Time is meaningless? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

calm down boys, I was only trying to shed light on the fact that no one regardless of whether they host a party or attend a no-host party should be made to feel alienated or feel as though they are contributing to draining the fun out of the party board community cuz they support non-hosted parties.. as I will reiterate, we all have different personalities and schedules. For some, not all, no-host parties fill a valuable need. They offer a party where there is no pressure to engage, talk, type, text or dance and socialize. This is very important for some, not all, but some of us, that play on the fly, have limited time, limited resources. As well as among other things but not limited too, those where English is not their language of choice, those who are handicapped and typing and engaging are a challenge, and just people who are not in the mood.. Its fun and rewarding for some of us to be able to go to a party that is not hosted where there are zero expectations from the guests…Should all parties be no-hosted.. of course not, no more so than all parties should be tag parties, or all parties should be GnG’s.. as I have said in earlier threads, a vibrant, healthy, and respectful party board caters to all demographics for guests and hosts, and opens opportunities for leveling up through diversity and balance. No one particular group should ever be made to feel inferior, or alienated, thank you for all the feed back and responses, dialogue, respect and communication are the key building blocks to a vibrant party community

For me, I only host GnG 10x Pony parties, and so far, they have been very successful! WHY? Maybe its that Ponies are popular, and could be that i try and make my parties interactive and comical on some levels. For me, I am a Pony Man all the way!

I love hosting and meeting others, seeing the different levels of players all in the same room, and interacting with each other. Also, sometimes there are some ‘tips and advice’ thrown out for the new ones in the room.

Sometimes you never know what you will find at a party!

Seems that the luck of the draw is good
I was playing Mahjong with stored unicorns getting 99,324,756 per 20; stopped went to a 5x party and 1 overflow came back to Mahjong and am now getting 99,582,740 per 20. I appreciate it isn’t a huge increase but the new ones must have been worth more or otherwise how did they go up?

Hi Eddi. Someone once told me it has to do with the host and the time at which he/she ran the party in relation to the “power” of his/her city being close to it’s maximum point in the day. Something of the sort, please don’t ask me to elaborate further because I don’t know much more than that! Cheers,
