Building City/leveling up buildings

So if I have a party venue in my city, I can get early access to that party? I’ve only seen my party venues “light up” so to speak, when I host. Do these venues continue to gain coins etc. while being in storage? I have a bunch for my level of things

I only keep two party rooms on my map. The others I put in storage. Then when I have a party, it is much easier for early arrivers to find the room as the map automatically zooms in.

Another reason to have party rooms in storage is you can have a party where you want your friends to come early and get in. So I start a party in a room in storage. I go to the room in storage. Then I start inviting my friends. When the party start time happens, anyone else can come in to fill the room.

Yes, go to the host’s city (or your own) and click the Party Venue button in the upper right. Then the party buildings light up and you can click into them.

Anything building in storage behaves the same way as a building on the map (coins, rewards, city value)

Yes, go to the host’s city (or your own) and click the Party Venue button in the upper right. Then the party buildings light up and you can click into them.

Anything building in storage behaves the same way as a building on the map (coins, rewards, city value)

I don’t know why charms don’t show up in your inventory @DB4LBroncos I don’t pay close enough attention during a party to what is being thrown to know whether it’s something I have ever experienced

I tend to stick to the Grab and Go parties, ones where there is no meter, as a rule I have more party passes than gems so it makes sense to me to do that because no-one can be disappointed in a grab and go if that’s what I do; I don’t hang around beyond the time it takes to thank the party for the charms.

If I go to a party with a meter I’ll spend what I can afford but I don’t go with the expectation that the party will bust because it takes a lot to make one bust and it’s rarely worth it anyway. I never go to Blitz parties so can’t offer any insight to those

I know that many players go down the build as much and as big as you can quickly to be successful here and to fill your city with Level 4 monuments asap. When I first started here that wasn’t something I could do as a tourist and even when I eventually joined as a VIP still I didn’t have the resources to do that.

One day I was chatting with a friend who’d sent me a gift, apologising because I couldn’t repay it comparably. My friend advised me to keep a good variety of buildings in my city if I wanted to get more than just coins from treasure boxes and to have any hope of gems or party passes.
I followed her advice so I don’t know what I’d be getting if I hadn’t kept a mix of buildings. I haven’t really tracked it closely but I reckon I get party passes from a TB at least once a day and more often than not there’ll be some in green box prizes, gems not so often but I don’t recall the last week where I didn’t get any gems. They’re not big numbers but over time they add up

I read lots of advice on this forum from lots of players who have infinitely more valuable and more productive cities than mine and I found a path of my own that suits me. It works with my playing style, with what I have (or don’t) to spend on it and being content with the games.

I came here to play Mahjong, I’d still come here to play Mahjong without the city to build or the parties or having CW friends, the fact that I’ve learned new games like poker and Jewels of Osiris, well they are all a bonus

@Eddi_Bets , I love your take on what you’ve experienced here, as it closely aligns with my own. Finding your own path to enjoying both the games themselves and the challenge of building a city at your own pace and to your liking is so much more rewarding than chasing someone else’s style of play. And I could not have done it without all of the advice and perceptions of others here on the forum.

Thank you @Smiling_Jim, I appreciate you taking the time to say it and it’s good to meet like minded people.
I really have found this forum to be a huge help in understanding what’s possible to achieve but also that there are so many different approaches to reaching your goals that finding your own path just seems to me the most logical thing to do.
I didn’t come here to compete with other players I came her to compete with the games.
Your city is looking good and I hope it does bring you pleasure as well as rewards

I have found that Grab N Go parties don’t add pressure to the fact of filling the meter. The low budget parties with meters, are very disappointing with some when you reach the 5th surprise box and it only contains 12K or 24K coins. I hate receiving coins in any party. That’s not why I’m there. I don’t need 12K sitting at 9B+. I’m looking for future help when playing with charms. Not some piddly ass coins after spending so much

There are certain players that show up in parties and just stand in the front and dance. They don’t contribute at all and then complain because the meter didn’t bust. THAT is something that happens every now and then. A specific player named Garr is the worst. Other players do the same thing as well. Dance and complain.

I will help bust a party if others are throwing big charms and I can help with the bust process with my own big charms. When I join a party I test the waters. If nobody else starts throwing, I won’t either. If it’s a beer party so to speak, we get our 25 charms. I personally get 26 or 27 depending on if the host is there? That is confusing a bit but don’t dwell on that.

During a party, I will mentally note that someone has bought 4 helis!! Or a couple of cell phones, yaughts etc. I will add to those gifts when possible, to not only match the other guest, but to increase my inventory as well. The example I posted was I bought 2 helis and a guest also bought 2 helis, then I expected to see 4 helis in inventory but there was only 1. THAT really pisses me off especially when I paid for 2 of those.

I don’t keep track of beers, strawberries, Tbones and things like that. But the big ones I do keep track of, and I am pretty anal about how and when to use them. This problem has been reoccurring ever since I became VIP and that doesn’t make any sense to me at all.

Another odd thing to me is when someone buys a charm that isn’t on my buy list. Those must be people that are at a much higher level and have a wider option for purchases?

I forgot to add… My sign in streak is at 345 days 20 away from a year, so I’m somewhat excited(?) to see what rewards that contains

Bronc…I’m sorry if I’m steering away from the point of the original thread, but was curious why a high level player would even bother attending Beer parties unless it is to socialize with certain friends. It can’t be an attempt to progress?

Beer parties, etc, are meant as a way for lower level players to slowly increase their value. I must be missing something.

I’m on a sign in streak of 353. 13 more days before the 1 year anniversary and curious what that is going to bring me.

I’ve just joined VIP about 3 months ago. Even though the rewards path receives prizes from across the street, I have noticed extra perks.

Why do I attend beer parties? Each month renewal I get 500 PP and the allotted other rewards. Those 500 disappeared quite quickly joining GnG high ticket parties. When I’m running low on PP, I do join these cheap parties. No choice really. I do however score some big-time charms from other VIPs that attend. Helis, cell phones, yaughts etc… That gives me charms growth.

Not only are PP hard to come by, but so are avatar points. People with those extravagant costumes must be spending mega bucks on gem purchases in order to do so. I’m not concerned about the ability to do so myself, but wow.

I’m learning more about my city. If I update monuments by removing others, looks like it will help further with this regard.

Bottom Line: Being a VIP newbie so to speak, I’ve found that cheap coins are rewarded over and over. In mentioned beer parties, buying big time charms, the whole room is participating, yet at the 5th prize box it only has 12K/24K coins which is an insult and highly upsetting after spending so many gems on charms only to receive something like that.

My city is the same way. Over and over, no matter what the time limit set is, worthless coin totals at my level. I can’t afford these GnG parties requiring 1200, 4200, 9000 PP or gems to enter. I’m not even close to be able to afford gem purchases at that level.
I did join a big-time party once, and there were a few add on charms to the party, but I can’t afford these.

Getting back once again to the OP, charms on not being rewarded or found in inventory. I have repeatedly said, they were not lost in game play when no games were ever played!! My browser is just fine and I can do anything I want elsewhere on the net with no issues. It is something to do with your site. I never had any of these issues before joining VIP.

It is your end that is the problem

@robbie01 Sometimes you may see higher level players at a small beer party, etc, because they may simply be doing a “Attend a sucessfull party” challenge. It’s often easier and quicker to just go to a lower level one. Often when i have done this, I will help their bar full quickly with choppers as a way to give back and help out while i’m there.

I have done the same thing when I am able. But I’m a low level guy just trying to move forward that gets tougher and tougher each milestone. It’s a place with various things to focus on and watch. Cities, parties, challenges etc…

The whole reason for coming in the first place is to have fun with my bored ass self being retired. LOL. But the issues I’ve been bringing up are bothersome to me, but I guess you can’t battle with AI
