Changed the display of charms

YES @Van_338!

@Samantha I thought Monday’s update was supposed to fix the chasing of the charms issue…

What exactly do you mean by “chasing of Charms”?

@Samantha, the issue is the dynamic re-sorting. When we use any sort method other than Alphabetical (like High-Low, Low-high or Recent), the list updates immediately after we load a charm. This changes the order, causing the charm we are trying to click to jump to a different spot in the grid. We literally have to chase it with our cursor to load more than one.

@Night_Guy, I was beating my brains out trying to come up with an understandable written explanation of “chasing the charms” to illuminate the problem further for @Samantha . Tossing in the visual is brilliant, and you’ve saved me considerable brain damage!

I can only think that making charm stacking annoying is an unintended consequence on CW’s part, and hope that they will quickly address it, now that your example is in front of them.

I was hoping for a fix with the December 8 update. I guess not. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

P.S. Thank you, @Night_Guy, for illustrating this so very well.

@Samantha , I just had a constructive thought (perhaps). On the charms display page, why not just add another tab, so that you could have something like “My Charms–Sortable View”, “Charm Shop”, and “My Charms–Legacy View”. (Just popping in the old screen for the Legacy View). People newer to CW (with fewer charms in inventory and likely to have less understanding of how the charm system works) will probably be fine with the sortable features, whereas the veteran players have discovered and relied upon their own ways of utilizing or storing their charms, and the steps they have become comfortable with to execute their method of play.

I propose that this might be a way to avoid re-inventing the wheel LOL.

@Samantha, I recorded a video to show the tedious process of loading just one single charm type (Unicorns) using the ‘Auto-Equip’ feature. (Note: This video is sped up by 20% to fit the 180s limit). Currently, this setup takes about 4 minutes every time. The major issue is shown at the end of the video: if an unwanted charm slips into the buffer eg. from treasure box or a gift, I cannot remove it. I am forced to disable ‘Auto-Equip’ to remove and restart the entire process of unchecking charms from scratch.
Is there any way to streamline this to make it faster?

The video isn’t working as far as I can see

Try holding down Ctrl then F5, that is a hard refresh. I have since edited the video.

This is exactly what I do to load specific charms. It is so tedious as demonstrated here. If we could just be able to just load the ones we want.

Thanks for the clarification. I’ve passed this along to our teams to take into consideration.

Thanks @Samantha

We just want it to go back to the way it was. You click on charms to “load” them, and they appear at the bottom, not at the top. The change a few weeks ago has made the game mostly unplayable.

I am having a problem with the new Charm Manager, and I wonder if it has anything to do with Night Guy’s description of how to “keep unwanted charms from slipping into the buffer”. I collect all 5-clover or higher charms; however, I feel I have to collect two of each type because my charms that are NOT AUTO EQUIPPED still get shunted over to the right side. (Is this what you mean by the buffer??). I still don’t understand how I am supposed to keep my charms that are NOT AUTO EQUIPPED in my “My Charms” inventory, instead of CW shunting them over to the right side and getting partially or fully used up before I can catch that error and move them back into my “My Charms.”

With the new Charm Manager, this problem has achieved a new twist. I got a free Golden Spade in Rewards this month, which I didn’t have previously. So, I went to the Charms Shop and purchased a 2nd Golden Spade charm. I also got a Spiral Galaxy charm for the 1st time as a party reward, then purchased a 2nd Spiral Galaxy from my Charms Shop. After I made those purchases, I documented that I truly had 2 of each of those new charms in my My Charms inventory. Unfortunately, a day or two later, I was back down to 1 charm of each, as if I had never purchased those extra charms from my Charms Shop!!

I am just wondering if any of you have experienced the same problem, i.e., after buying a charm from your Charms Shop, it appears on the right side (buffer?), then in your My Charms inventory, then it disappears completely later!? I was very careful to make sure to move my 2nd Golden Spade and 2nd Spiral Galaxy charm over into the “My Charms” inventory and to MONITOR the right side of my screen to make sure each charm is not accidentally getting shunted over to the right side to be used/burnt up. I wish CW would change this and shunt any new charms we buy or earn as a reward directly into our “My Charms” inventory instead of into the right-side feeder area, as someone else has noted on here.

I don’t understand everything in the discussions above, but if anyone else is buying charms in their Charm Shop that disappear later, please let me know. Also, if you know of a way to stop CW from “stealing away” your saved charms that are NOT auto-equipped, please let me know what to do! Thanks.

@DoctorO When you get a new charm for the first time, it becomes checked in the charms manager. So even if you unchecked everything except Mystic Rubies, when you get your first Golden Spade, it will be checked. And if it’s higher than your existing charms, it will be used first.

Thx Big E! However, that doesn’t explain why either of my Golden Spade charms got used up (if that’s what happened) when both of them were in my My Charms inventory and both were not check-marked as available for Auto-Play. They should have remained in My Charms until I released them for use on the right-side of the screen, which I did not do!

Please fix the charms rows - stop them from moving and put the charms that have been chosen in the buffer to the bottom (like it was previously). This new look is so time consuming, not to mention annoying, when you have 1000’s of charms and want to stack them for hours of auto-spinning in the slots. You’ve taken the fun out of it for me, at least, and I’m not playing as much and am not spending the money on gems like I did and not going to very many parties. You changed something that wasn’t broken and it was perfect before the change. PLEASE put it back to the way it was.

THANK YOU CW!!! The rows are no longer moving and the chosen charms are moved to the bottom. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY

“Low To High” is broken right now. Whenever I select “Low To High” it displays the charms same as “High To Low”. Just an FYI.

SOO HAPPY to see that the “High to Low” charm setting is back to normal and i can que up hundres of charms at a time without chasing them LOL
