why is this month 1k parties when last months was 2k ?
(I’m guessing) CW realized most crews didn’t make the goal and adjusted it so more could. And I think it was a wise decision.
Our crew is going to struggle with 1K
Most crews do just the little 5 passes parties to have it done …saves on passes…just not very good charms. But hey to each his own. One crew owner told me each member did 40 of those little parties and the got it done in record time spending 200 passes each. Just an idea if it helps anyone. And those little parties saved them gems as no one tossed. We also have 6-7 days to do it in there is no big rush we all get the payout on the same day after the spree is done. Maybe this can help your crew DB4LBroncos , or any other crew out there struggling.
That’s regrettable, DB4LBroncos. My crew struggled to hit 1500. So, we didn’t win the obelisk last month. A 25-member crew could attend 40 parties each which should be easy if they played at least an hour and attend 5 or 6 parties a day. But a 5-member crew would have to knock out 30 parties each daily to hit 1000 in 7 days. No crew member that spends most their time offline is coming back to attend parties and collect coins or charms from their city. That’s the problem I experienced with a 25-member crew.
What I am finding a struggle with, with being on a crew, is that the bottom 50% are either 0 parties the entire time, or maybe 1 or 2 at most. Thus, its usually left to the top 50% at best to complete all the challenges. I think after this round, i am going to leave the crew thing and go back to focusing on my city growth and playing time. Just my opinion here folks…I know of some good crews that are knocking it out with amazing players.
Get on a better Crew!
Party Animals rocks!

My crew is Slow Horses. Funny to me being a Broncos fan.
Back to point. We have a bottom half as well that haven’t contributed much to the crew. There are those of us that keep it building every event. Some go over the top as an individual to keep the crew alive with the next level. We recently had message that a crew member left and another member was added. Not sure how that happens so fast? But the newbie… shrugs
Cheap grab n’ goes are the way to go. Cheap parties are good too. Move on to the next and don’t feel compelled to toss. You’ll go broke if you toss at all the parties you attend. Invite, accept appropriate party invitations, and follow. Seven crew members knocked out the stretch goal before others had a chance to log in.
@Goose_Rocks that really sucks for the crew members who didn’t have a chance to log in and participate. Some players work, have other daytime RL committments or live in other parts of the world besides the US, and don’t even sign in until night time here.
We have a couple of heavy hitters in our crew who when the events first started, like with your crew, were contributing so much so quickly that we were completing them in a few hours or a day. However since we have a lot more members now, and some not into the crown levels yet, the heavy hitters have graciously rolled back their participation to allow every crew member to have the time to contribute. After all there’s no added bonus in finishing early, except getting some time to rest and recuperate before the next event starts. We still finished the latest Party Spree in two days and every one of our members got to contribute.
To us, being in a crew means being a part of a team that works together to complete the event goals, and understanding that not everyone in the crew is able to participate at equal levels. Our philosophy is that we trust every member to do the best they’re able to on every event, no questions asked, and to try to make sure they get the opportunity to do that. Members can only get booted for extremely bad behavior, never due to performance levels.
@Goose_Rocks, just my $.02. I’m sorry but I can’t endorse that attitude during the Party Spree. Certainly if you attend GNG’s, as long as you leave right after the party charms are given out, no problem. If you’re going to any other party you should at least try to toss a beer or two, or whatever the least expensive charm is, whenever you can. Those who can afford it, will usually toss bigger charms even during the Party Spree. As Night Guy has said, tossing at parties has never been mandatory, but I think it’s just the right thing to do when you can without going broke, as a thank you to the host and other guests.
Not all crew members think the same way the top 5 do. Some think they are in a crew just for the fun of it. Why do they bother to join if they aren’t trying to attend a single party when that is the easiest thing for them to do and have fun too?
Crew members who get the most fun out of winning challenges are hurt by that. It is better for all that non-performers start a crew on their own and set their own rules. It would help if CW created a template for the type of crews that can get a member booted automatically according the the rules established by the Crew Owner.
The template could show the bare minimums in advance. Crew Owners currently have tried stating their minimum requirements in the Crew Section. What are they to do when no one pays attention? Somebody gets booted and their feelings are hurt.
As all parties are voluntary, Grab-n-Go tosses are definitely optional while the Blitz party requires a specific number of gem tosses. It would be great and solve quite a few problems if the Crew had a similar distinction.
Have you thought about starting your own crew? There are similar advantages to building a crew as there are for building your city—it mostly comes down to curating your footprint and cutting loose what isn’t producing.
When you manage your own city, dead weight is obvious: empty lots or low-yield buildings get swapped out so your passive revenue actually compounds. A crew functions on the exact same logic, but with people.
A few ways to reframe the crew grind before writing it off entirely:
-
The Carrying Penalty is Real: Carrying the bottom half of a roster burns out high-activity players fast. When 50% of the team coasts on zeroes, you aren’t just missing challenge tiers; you’re subsidizing other people’s rewards with your own Gems, Charms, and time.
-
City Growth vs. Crew Yield: Pouring resources strictly into your city gives guaranteed, predictable returns with zero social friction. However, a lean, coordinated crew acts as a massive force multiplier—the group milestone payouts outpace solo grinding by a wide margin once everyone pulls equal weight.
-
The Solution is Governance, Not Sacrifice: The “amazing crews” aren’t lucky; they just enforce minimum party/point thresholds and cycle non-performers out every cycle without hard feelings.
If stepping back to focus purely on your city brings the fun back, it’s worth doing. But if you ever revisit crew play, find or start your own crew with strict activity floors so your effort isn’t carrying passengers.
@NashRivers
I agree with @ReggiX . Try a new crew. My crew “Wasted Youth” usually knocks it out in a day. I know the prizes can be eh, but some like the extra gems are nice. And you can still focus on your city.
@Luck_Is_ALady, I appreciate your thoughtful take and completely agree that showing appreciation to a host is great etiquette. At the same time, looking at the bigger picture of how party economics work, the line between “contributor” and “freeloader” is often a lot blurrier than it appears.
For the record, I never mean to take anything away from our VIPs. Everyone loves seeing a helicopter drop, and no one is ungrateful for the heavy lifting our big spenders do to keep things moving.
My point is really about where the line gets drawn. Even a VIP attending a party with a pass instead of gems is technically saving their resources while other guests put gems on the line to fill the meter. CW already compensates the subscription on their private account; the host and guests don’t see any of that. In that specific room, they’re enjoying the collective perks just like anyone else trying to protect their wallet.
In the end, almost all of us have leaned on someone else’s generosity at one point or another in this game. What keeps parties fun isn’t rigid scorekeeping, but a healthy balance of humility in the room. Entitlement—whether it’s coasting on zero from the bottom or expecting special status from the top—is usually what spoils the fun for everyone.
