Crews...what is this?

Can someone explain what Crews is? I just saw it next to the leaderboard.

There is a FAQ page here:

New Feature: Crews

Some questions @Samantha

  1. It looks like I can only invite people who are online. I wish there was a way to invite on the profile page.
  2. If members start working on the goals, can a new member come in and participate to receive prizes? The FAQ was a little vague on adding members when crew goals were partially completed. For example I started a private crew and only have two members. We played some games, but enough to complete the goal. If we invite someone and they contribute, do they still get the prizes?

Thanks, it looks fun

Ok. I read the FAQ and instructions. Now I have to say I don’t understand the purpose after all of that. For these mentioned events, it states there are too many rewards to list. Why? So don’t list them all but provide some examples. Are there a huge increase in Gems for instance? Are there Charms of more value than currently offered in Treasure Boxes or Green Boxes? Will there be some kind of new prize offered in these events?

I am just hoping for additional insight on what the purpose is prior to someone possibly inviting me to join a Crew and not knowing what it entails from me. I am presuming it will require spending Gems during the event and is so any insight into how much that could be?

Sorry I am not sounding so excited, though that comes from just not understanding.

Your crew tries to complete tasks and you get prizes kind of like the monthly challenges. First one is coins won. The next one is about parties in 2 weeks.

Yes it sounds almost like and addition to the Rewards Road. So far, I like it  All I’ve had to do was keep doing what I usually do..Play.

@Elanor Thank you for the pictures. As the saying goes, ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’. Gives a little clearer understanding of what is going on with this. I’m not sure I am personally ready to venture into this just yet, though will ponder.

Before I joined Casino World and 7 Seas, I played on a site that just had slots, but it was structured pretty much like the new Crews feature. Can’t recall the name of it though. It was a lot of fun, and nice to have a bunch of people to hang around with and work together with for prizes. Warning though, there will be drama

@Samantha there’s one thing I don’t understand though, about the way this one is set up. Since the public crews are listed so anyone can join them, why can’t we also see the owner’s name and the names of the members? I guess I’ll just have to hope one of my friends invites me to join their crew, since I’m not going to join a group if I have no idea who’s running it or part of it.

@PB234, where did you go to see the list of events and the statement about the rewards? Clicking on the Crews tab I could only see the listings for the public crews, nothing more.

@Luck_Is_ALady @Luck_Is_ALady In the information Samantha sent, under Rewards: the second question is what kind of rewards can my crew earn and it says it’s too many to list here!

In my initial reply was asking why could they not be listed at least partially to provide an idea. So I added examples trying to see if the rewards could be more than what already can be earned. Nothing as exact prizes.

Weighing whether joining a Crew is worth it. Still not sure how it works. Is there any way to determine who’s part of a publicly listed Crew? Would appreciate knowing before I joined. Would hate to join one where other members have me blocked. Also, I sort of want to start a crew just to get the new Club House.

The only gem cost is to the one who started the Crew. It’s free to join. And you just play normally to help your crew get prizes. It’s cooperative, not competitive. I love it!

One other issue.

If you are trying to invite people to your “invite only crew”, invitees have to be both online AND in the same room as you. It would be nice to make it easier to send invites.

so let me share a feeling on this… I joined a public crew.. and participated a bit this morn.. came back at 4:45 pm ct or so and got an inbox that i was kicked out of the crew… what the heck??? and wow they said you are welcome to join another or start a new crew… i did nothing wrong in anyway, and picked this group as it said for all and no drama.. do not even know who else was there.. but, if you are going to kick others out for just being ?? it so is not something i feel site should be allowing.. I spent time playing to assist the group that i would not of done.. this so does not make me want to be any part of it at all.. so very disappointed that something that said to be for all to have fun and participate in will treat others this way… how many others are to be kicked to the curb… from the start, or used to get to goal and then kicked out??? SMH :frowning:

So, if the crew ‘loses’, everyone loses, too?

I don’t think there’s any losing – you just play and the group collectively wins prizes

Not being able to see the members of a crew before joining is a HUGE downside. They really need to change that.

so to me there is losing… as with my situation… i participated and the elevator was going up through a number of levels, i saw a number of earned rewards.. then got a kicked out notice.. surely they are not giving me the rewards that i was there helping them earn… or do i get what rewards the group won while i was there and participating?? i believe if someone entered when i was kicked they would only get from where they started and not what was previously earned by me and the others..could you please explain how this works Samantha?

I was wondering about something like this happening.

Doubt I am going to ‘do’ the Crew bit. Hard pass…
