I would like someone to explain to me how these crews work. I’m not sure I like what is happening here with this and need to know more about how they operate and what the advantage is of belonging to one. It seems too much like “cliques” to me.

I looked into joining a crew a few days after it was introduced, The crew I joined, has an expectable rewards system. The crew gathers points/charms/etc. together and we all benefit from being in a crew. It appears to be a system that all members of the crew, collect what is necessary and keep going for higher rewards. This is all new to all of us, but it appears to be a profitable thing to do so far

Someone please tell us how we get points to advance our crew cause the basic statement CW gave “You get points from coins youearned during game play including charms” is NOT correct.
I can make 10 Billion in Dragon Majong in 1 day using hundreds of big charms, but my friend who mostly plays the slots and wins 1/4 what I do is making a lot more coins for our crew than I do.
WHY are the slots payouts more contributable than the actual amount paid out in games?

The entire scenario is confusing. I’m in a “crew” maxed at 25. Like a party. All of the milestones have been completed, but we still need to hit the big one. If all players add to the total, I wonder if everything we accumulate is added? TB? Cities?
When I used my ponies in Spark Plug Poker, everything i earn is totaled in my coin total in my crew standing. For example, I used 270 Unicorns, betting at 500K and made 1.3 Billion. I went back to my crew standings, and i was 1.3 Billion higher in my coin total.
I am not certain on this but I think with slots you not only gain what you win, but you also gain the amount of coins you are spending on each spin. It could be the case with all of the games but at this stage it is just a guess based on observations.
Maybe because slots are more volatile than Dragon Majong? Consider that I finish a slot session up 100 million coins (no charm payouts), but CW includes the total won of 300 million even though I gambled back 200 million. In other words, CW tabulates gross winnings rather than net winnings for Crew contributions. Not certain that’s how it really works but seems like a plausible explanation for the disparity between Dragon Majong contributions compared to slot winning contributions.

Goose is correct with her explanation. Each spin of the slots is a bet and any winnings and charm payouts go towards the crew goals. If there’s no win or charm payout (a loss), the spin is essentially ignored as far as crew contributions go. What you walk away with at the end of the night has no bearing on anything. With majong, you’re really only making one bet per game. Your charms pay out on every move and these count towards the crew goal along with the final payout when you finish the game.
From what I’ve been able to determine, city payouts and treasure boxes do not count towards the crew goals. Also, coins received during a party when a person tosses a VIP charm (choppers, etc) do not count. I haven’t looked yet at what happens during sea of riches spins.

@LA_13 exactly that. What counts is your gross winnings (Not net) plus the value of charms cashed in. Coins from city/chests don’t count. I found the fastest way to get credit was 5x50M coin blackjack plus Unicorn charms.
Crews: Never a better time 2 join a public crew than now. Why? Let me explain. U can now join any public crew. L@@k at their events page. If U see the meter full of prizes then that is a good crew to B in going forward and U still get the cabbage of all the rewards. So, U may B a late bloomer but, can still get in on the ground floor running. Best Wishes 2 all. Have Fun!
@Vogue AFAIK, no one can look at any crew’s event page unless you’re a member of that crew. The only things displayed in the public crew listings are the name, banner, description and how many members they currently have.
Join public crew, L@@K at events page. If not full of prizes U can get out then repeat until U find a crew that has met goals silly. However, this method will not work in 2 days because we start from scratch again.
You have to be part of the crew before that event starts to be eligible for the prizes. If you join in the middle of an event, you will not get the prizes for that event. This creates fairness, as if that’s not the case, some can just keep jumping around just to find the crew that has almost completed the event and benefit from the prizes without contributing. But in my opinion, contribution for those eligible for the prizes is really optional. It’s not like we’re getting 100K gems prizes; we’re getting prizes I would say are more to be desired.

Hi Night Guy – I posted this same statement on another thread. It’s not true that you have to be in the crew BEFORE the event starts in order to get the prizes. During the Coin spree, my husband joined a crew near the end of the event. Was in the group for only a couple of days much after the event started. When it ended he received ALL of the prizes in the prize list. He did not have be in the crew before the event started. Please test this out if you feel inclined. Regards.

I agree with @Ancient_Echoes about her husband’s experience @Night_Guy I joined a crew mid event for the first one and benefited from all the prizes at the end, which was an extra bonus for me.

Going to repost this here, as I realized it was because we’ve already completed the goals.
I stand corrected! According to the official New Feature: Crews Q&A, you just have to be part of the crew and participate in the active event to be eligible for the rewards, and as long as you contribute a little after it starts, you are good to go.
My test was based on joining after an event’s goals had already been reached while the event was still active - since we usually finish the previous and current ones on the first day. Because you can no longer contribute once the max goal is hit (for instance, once all 1,000 successful parties are completed and extra parties stop adding to the total), it seems like anyone who joins after that point misses out.

The information provided in Q & A by CW originally said that you had to be a part of the crew at the start of the event to receive the rewards. I was wondering how that was going to work as our crew formed after the event had started. I am also curious to see if it applies for future events or that has been changed now.
I have to agree with @Ancient_Echoes. I joined a crew late as well and recieved all the bonuses.
What’s preventing crew owners and administrators from removing members for underperforming, out of spite, or simply to make space for their friends? Do high performers 
risk losing their rewards at the end?
