Crews comments and suggestions

So far, I’m really enjoying the new Crews feature. I really love collaborative activities in games! Some comments and suggestions.

  1. It would be nice to have some additional setting for public Crews like VIP only, or minimum MS/Crown level.
  2. It’s hard right now to invite others. They have to be online AND you have to be in the same room/game/location. It would nice to be able to send an invite to any friend through the message service.
  3. You should be able to set Crews to public, public - Invite only or Private - invite only. Then the public AND public-invite groups with openings would be visible, including the Crew description. Then have a feature where someone who wants to join an invite group could message the Crew leader.
  4. There should be an option where Crew members can message each other en masse, not just the message board.
  5. We should be able to throw parties in the Crew Clubhouse - and give non-members a chance to check us out.

any other ideas?

@Elanor I just got my crew set up, and found that if the person you want to join your crew is online and visible in the right hand column of your friends, you don’t have to be in the same room. Just click on their name to open their profile. If they’re not already in a crew, their profile will have a button that says “Invite To Crew”. Clicking on that works pretty much the same when you invite someone to a party or game.

I’ve passed your requests along to our teams.

The Crew Clubhouse is a lovely venue. Should be opened up for parties.

As Nightguy mentioned in his tips & tricks on hosting a party, it should also be applied to hosting a crew party. Welcome your guests. I noticed the first crew I entered, all the avatars are crowns levels. I’m 3 levels away from getting a crown. I see the top 5 avatars top producing a lot of coins. I build my city right, but not producing enough party passes and gems. I belonged to the wrong party.

I canceled out.

I went to the second crew, sent a message letting them know I am a few levels away from getting a crown, hope that is okay to join. No welcoming, no reply. I canceled out.

Elanor does have a point, crew host needs to state crowns or MS, or welcome anyone.

I’m finding the Crew experience less intimate than a typical party. Everyone is on at different times and/or playing different games. The message board doesn’t seem very personal either. The Crew feature is still new, so people are still trying to figure it out. I wouldn’t worry about joining a crew heavy with crowns. Most are glad to help out newer, sincere players. This is especially true when a crew is open to the public. Those who want to be exclusive will join private crews.

I was very lucky, I don’t have a crown yet, but the crew I joined said even before I joined, Everyone Welcome.

I joined a public Crew 3 days ago not knowing much about what this entails. From my current experience, it is an avenue to get some charms, gems, pp, etc by having everyone on the team having their play count towards the set goals. So in the end, you have an opportunity to attain additional rewards that you may not have achieved by just playing games on your own. So your play gets accumulated with all other Crew members for a return at the end of the game which this first one is on Aug 30. Then another one starts up. So it seems this is a win, win in the end. That is my observation at this time.

We need to know how best to help our crew members. I’ve searched to find out, but the standard answer that we recieve points for games (including charms) does not make any sense.

Why do I say that? I made over 10 Billion in 1 day playing Dtagon Mahjong while my frind made a few million playing the slots. She was listed in the crew standings as contributing MORE even though she made much less.

Please explain to us how we can make better contributions.

I think this is very important.

  • When we started a Crew, we made it clear that ALL are welcome. That whatever level folks contribute at is fine. We have Crown 100+ to MS35.
  • We started with 2 women and gave everyone rights to invite other women. And even though it was invite only, we got to 25 quickly.
  • We made it clear that this is a cooperative game, not a competition. Honestly, I wish there was an option to turn off the “Top 5”, which is contrary to our Crew’s philosophy.
  • As people joined, I welcomed them in the chat. You can even pin messages. And we get a lot of chatting, a lot of fun.
  • You can even get playful and change the member titles. Instead of Owners, Admins and Seniors, we have Divas, Fairy Godmothers and Wise Women!
  • Crews can be great if you just have fun with them! I’m looking forward to being able to use our clubhouse as a party room!
  • And we just made the 588B goal with nine days left!

Very well said Goose_Rocks! You do have a very good point that this is new for all of us, get the feel of it, it will play out well in the future.

That is what I’m talking about, everything you mentioned is a comfort.

Yes, and the “Top 5” to have a shut off option. That was very intimidating to me, I felt I’d just let everyone down.

Everything you said is so right in so many ways is why you and your crew are already at the top.

I think the crew should be full before starting the ‘event’. Why should I help with the big prize when they’ve already gotten all of the other prizes?

I don’t think the prizes are awarded until the event ends. I joined a Crew after it had started and the Owner said they had not received any prizes yet. If anyone else know differently I am sure it will get posted.

Do all the current crews have the same event going on? The crew I’m in has “Coin Rush” ending August 30th.

Yes, all the Crews have the same goals.. #1 is the COIN RUSH! with a goal of 88,800,000,000 and then a stretch goal of 588,800,000,000.. and it ends on Aug 30 th.. then the next event of PARTY SPREE! starts on Aug 30 th

what is a stretch goal?

So, the only way I can see other crews is to leave the crew i’m already in?

I was wondering the same thing @GoldNugget.

It would be better to know who’s in crew before you joined. You can leave quickly if the crowd doesn’t suit you. Would like to see which other crews are out there and how they are performing.
