Party Spree

Has any crew completed the Party Spree? It’s tough!

Our crew completed the party spree challenge. With the right approach, it’s doable. I hosted several cheap grab n go parties and attended at least 100 other cheap parties that I treated as grab n’ goes. The challenge notes number of parties attended rather than tossing charms and busting. Attending so many parties was exhausting. I would just collect the initial charms, then pop to the next cheap party over and over again.

Yes, my crew did the same…pop in and go on to the next cheap party. That seemed to be the strategy of most crews I think as you were literally partying with the same ppl all day long from all the other crews. Most found it kind of funny and we all had a good time laughing about it.

Our crew did it in less than a day.

Our crew completed the Party Spree by the 3rd day I think. Like @Cathylee said, i just popped in and out of parties for about 2 days. Completed 208 parties in 2 days. Other crew members picked up the rest. I also saw a lot of the same people hopping in and out for those 2 days.

What I found amazing, some of the parties were 3rd and 4th overflows. That was amazing and we all traveled on the same buses to save energy. I would look at the parties and just pick one that was already in progress and it would open and fill so fast. Saved post more parties. Like someone said, “it was exhausting.”

I realize that I don’t really care about joining a crew, probably because I don’t completely understand them, but correct me if I am reading and understanding your comment wrong. You treat all parties like a grab and go and leave as soon as the party starts and you collect your 25 charms. That just sounds like crew people are just greedy. If you go to the “cheap” parties like you say, most of the people that attend are probably non VIP players who desperately need those charms and charms that others toss. They struggle to get from milestone to milestone. Because of the crews greed to complete the “party spree”, it affects non crew member’s enjoyment of why they attended the party in the first place. I don’t think that is fair at all. If you want to treat parties that way, then only attend parties for crew members. There should be a choice when creating a party to select crew members only or no crew members allowed. Maybe I’m the only one that thinks this way, but if I create a party, I’m blocking all crew members from attending. Sorry, crew members need their own boundaries and not at the expense of others.

@Western_Willie Welcome to the forum. The following is my opinion based on my experience here on CW.

Parties are just parties - there has never been a requirement to toss charms, and no one should feel entitled to expect other players to spend their hard-earned gems, unless it’s explicitly spelled out in the details as a toss-required party.

If someone is struggling to progress from milestone to milestone, relying on others to toss charms in parties is actually part of the problem. That kind of short-term thinking for instant gratification only hurts players in the long run.

Your #1 priority should always be investing gems into your city, not burning them on charms at parties. You can lose a coin balance in an instant, but you can never lose a building or monument. A built-out city continuously pays you back with coins, gems, party passes, and high-value charms for as long as you play the game.

For as long as I can remember hosting parties, tossing has always been entirely optional with zero requirements, unless it’s a blitz that has its own prerequisites to enter. Crew members hopping in and out to hit event milestones aren’t taking anything away from non-crew players - everyone gets their base entry charms, and hosts still get their rooms filled to overflow. If people step back, look at the bigger picture, and focus on building their own city foundation rather than expecting others to fund their progress with charm tosses, they will do much better in CW.

Wow. That’s a bit harsh, Willie. I hope you reconsider blocking all crew members. I’m guessing that at least 60 percent of CW players joined a crew, so your CW experience could become a bit lonely. Most crew members are dedicated, motivated players and have a lot to offer apart from crew challenges. For the record, crew members didn’t design that challenge. CW is the culprit. Crew members sought to meet the challenge in a way to conserve party passes and gems. Maybe CW will challenge Crew members with a charm tossing goal. I don’t think you would want to miss out on that one.
