I agree! @Samantha, @Free_Radical..I never understood the point of a party reminder that only reminds you of a party after it’s already started. I’ve set many reminders only to find out by the time I get it, the party has already been filled. A reminder that tells you about 2 to 3 minutes before a party starts would be extremely helpful.
Since the new Dragonet has been launched, I see more parties filling up and actually busting. It’s really fun feeling like you are on a dragon hunt! More people seem to be attending and throwing bigger charms. The parties seem to really be worth going to now. I’m having a blast, although I still haven’t caught the blue dragon lol here’s hoping I get more party passes or gems in my TB’s !
I want that blue dragon too!!! But i heard it’s on the really expensive scale parties, so that’s not gonna be possible for me…Except cw decides to donate me some more gems!!
Hi @CathyLee & @Polina4! Just wanted to share that the blue dragonet can come from a 2x unicorn or 2x mushroom charm. It took me a few attempts. The black one is the toughest, needing a busted 10x/5x unicorn or similar cost. Hope this helps!
Thank you @Night_Guy I’ve been trying for days! Now I’ll just have to build up my pp’s ![]()
Thank you @Night_Guy i don’t think i could manage this kind of party, gems concerned…but it’s very good to know where to find them!!Hugsss
Just today, attended a small tier party. Get all the way to the 5th mark only to receive 24K coins? This is nonsense. Party room pushed the meter to that point and none of us were happy about that “reward” . At that point, nobody is willing to continue to push the meter any farther. And when a party does bust, that final reward isn’t much
I’ve mentioned anticlimactic party busters before. Many times, the middle marks often seem to pay better than the buster mark. CW is unconcerned.
went to a three Clover party today, party was busted; 225 gems so not a bad reward ![]()
Mid Range Charms:
I find that the mid range party busters are not worth the # of gems needed to bust it. The prizes to gems spent ratio is often not worth it. Would rather use them to build my city. Newbies need those mid range charms though to move ahead, and it’s hard at the beginning stages to acquire enough gems from the game to contribute much at these type of parties. The meter goes sloooooow after the half way point. A Blitz at this level can be a pretty good deal, depending on the charms selected of course. A Blitz at this level works best because everyone contributes evenly and it works, where as at a Buster you can’t rely on everyone to contribute evenly and it becomes too hard to bust.
Low End Charms:
These charm parties are fun to bust and easy if all participate, but newbies usually don’t have the gem power to toss much so it gets left up to a select few with more gem power and I’m fine with that as long as there’s at least 3-5 people making it happen, and the newbies are at least trying to contribute something. That being said, I don’t like it though when attendees hassle others about whether or not they are tossing. We’ve all been there (need charms to move ahead but not enough gems). Plus there are not a lot of GNG at this level, which is really what beginners need. Lately it seems more and more that no body wants to or cannot toss. That’s fine – I’m good with taking the entry charms, plus whatever a partially filled meter gives and moving on. Tends to work best for beginners given the low gems issue. More Blitz parties at this level would be great but unfortunately creating a Blitz or GNG are options only for VIP’s, which rules out a lot of people who might want to put on that type of party but can’t. I wish CW would allow everyone to do Blitz parties, not just those with VIP status. I think they would still be able to generate the revenue they are seeking since the Blitz requires everyone who enters to use gems… same as tossing at a Buster, but this way more parties would be guaranteed to bust and it would be evenly acquired.
High End Charms:
I rely heavily on passes to attend parties, and I recommend this approach because your gems are definitely better spent on building your city. I love the GNG for that reason. I like to toss what I reasonably can at the GNG as a thank you to all who attend. The entry charms are my goal, extra’s are appreciated but not expected. I will toss extra based on what I can afford, not based on what others are tossing. Nectars are my preferred charm so a Buster of this level would be a crazy amount of gems to bust it. Most party goers at this level find that to be true. I like a Buster at this level that says GNG. That way extras that get tossed contribute to a prize meter and creates possible prizes if enough people toss and the meter reaches the 2nd tier or higher. I will attend a Blitz now and again if it’s not 1000 gems or more to complete. There are some folks that put on Blitz’s for high end charms with the gem contribution being 2-6K. That’s steep for me. I just can’t afford that kind of entry fee. Seems more cost effective to acquire the same number of charms via GNG using passes and spend those gems on my city.
You’ve clearly thought about this a great deal and there’s so much sense in what you say. I appreciate you acknowledging how difficult it can be for newer players to have the resources to contribute to party meters, I used to see jibes being thrown around in parties aimed at ‘moochers’ and it made me uncomfortable.
So I too favour GnG parties to amass higher value charms and I try to exit very quickly after the charms are released because I don’t want to appear like a leech when I have little to throw.
I can’t comment on the efficacy of Blitz parties as I don’t go to them, I rarely have two gems to rub together. I absolutely do not attend ‘names called’ toss parties - this is a game not a business.
I thought (I guess like most guests do) once I reached crown status I’d be rolling in gems, sadly not. Maybe I reached it on coin totals ahead of when my city is able to produce them in sizeable volumes. I take what I’m given and I try to do the best with it and I’ll keep plugging away for no other reason than I enjoy the game, when I no longer do then I’ll put it to bed and forget about it
Most of the time I attend high-end GNG/party busters, and use only my passes. I will toss to show my appreciation, but admittedly my tosses are small, as I still feel the need to concentrate on my city building.
I have two exceptions.
I do regularly attend a mid-level “Names called” party that ALWAYS busts. It’s usually populated by many of the same folks, and I enjoy the social aspect as well as receiving a ton of charms.
I also make it a point to attend a low-level party once or twice a week, and if there is sufficient participation and enthusiasm, I will make sure that the party busts. I remember being only able to attend those parties when I first started, and was over-the-top elated when the party busted, or some generous VIP players tossed out champagne and (can you believe it!!!) CHOPPERS! I was so grateful, and feel like going to those and doing the same is a bit of giving back and encouraging the newer players to hang in there.
I will always bust my low-tier challenge parties and litter my guests with great charms.
