My 2nd 7 day delayed collection started with me buying a 10,000 gem building and evolving existing ‘stock’ to a L4 monument. At the start of the week I had 228 buildings at the end of the week because I’ve been lucky with treasure boxes I had 231 buildings. The screen said I had 207 prizes to collect and at the end of the collection it said 736 prizes had been collected.
My gem count increased by 477 and my party passes by 3114 and my charms by 660; including 21 holiday wines and 17 gold cards
Was it better than last week, yes it was based on more passes, gems, holiday wines and gold cards - on overall number of prizes collected I was told 10 fewer due and in actuality 160 fewer were delivered.
In the 1st week there were 21 coin collections when I ignored green prize boxes, in the 2nd week there were 19 coin collections when I ignored green prize boxes that were available.
This week I’m going back to normality, and will collect boxes when I collect coins and how often during any 24 hour period that I collect will depend on, when I get up each day and what I to do in the day, I’ll be in CW when time allows, I’ll stock up buildings for the beginning of the new month to build monuments while enduring the slow treasure box collection timescale and saving up gems
It’s been interesting to do this and when I’ve cogitated on it I may change my overall approach or maybe I’ll just continue to randomly wander through CW and see what happens (I’ve never been very good at being disciplined)
I’m going to bank my green boxes to use when my tbs underperform and gem count is small. This may not be the most productive strategy but will help me get through when times are lean.
Hi Everyone
I waited for 7 days before collecting the green prizes, however I made a few changes to suit my needs. I was still making monuments so I brought some of my tier 6 buildings out of storage and put them in my city so I could individually remove the green box before making monuments. I also continued to purchase buildings during that period. I noticed that my TBs had hardly any gems or party passes compared to normal and that I was mostly collecting coins. It showed 193 rewards to collect and I collected 1104. There were 13 800 party passes, 1658 gems, 96 holiday wine charms and 78 gold card charms. I found it really challenging remembering not to collect the prizes and also to change how I usually build in my city. I would do it again but probably not all of the time. I enjoy reading about everyone’s experiences while testing this out.
Good Morning and a happy February to all.
Here are the very laughable results of leaving my coin collection for 7 days
Coin collection just under 6 Billion
Prizes stated 131 Prizes actually collected 144
Charms 123 ( 10 Gold Cards ) ( 3 Holiday Wine ) then 110 other smaller charms
Party Passes 1,913
And wait for it a total of 9 gems for the whole week LOL !!!
Well i have tried it, so please everyone NEVER try this
I didn’t mind doing this just to show people the outcome and for a very big laugh.
So back to normality now, back to my 3 times a day coin collection.
Good luck everyone on how you do things on cw, wishing you all success

Hi Jet, If you are up for it, it would be interesting to see if you get much better results if you keep collecting your coins regularly like you usually do and just leave the green prizes for the 7 days. I think your results show that regular coin collection increases the green box prizes and when you don’t collect the coins regularly, that the green boxes are also affected. It is still valuable information for all of us. Good luck to you also ![]()
Hi Tempty, yes i usually collect coins 3 times per day & leave the green boxes for 7 days. I know doing it this way yields more green boxes. The more L4 monuments like Night Guy has the more you will get like PP’s, Gems, Gold Cards & Holiday wine. I only have 30 L4 monuments at the moment. I will post the results next Sunday. That last test was abysmal to say the least, but i tried it and would NEVER recommend anybody doing it this way. Thanks for your reply ![]()
Any thoughts on what buildings give reward boxes. I am 5 days into my 7 day wait and almost all of my buildings have reward boxes. The exception is that in storage I have 5 Launch Pads (Tier 14) and not one single reward box associated with them. I m wondering if the builder assigned to a building has an affect on how it performs
I’ve tracked for three weeks.
Week 1
City with 234 buildings, 21 coin collections when I ignored green prize boxes. Waiting 7 days to collect the green prize boxes delivered 2933 party passes & 239 gems. My charms total increased by 820 including 13 holiday wines & 12 gold cards. It said on screen there were 217 prizes to collect but delivered 844
Week 2
I made my 7th L4 monument and used up my gems on a Casino Satellite right at the start of the week. At the start of the week I had 228 buildings at the end of the week, I had 231 buildings, 19 coin collections when I ignored green prize boxes. Waiting 7 days to collect the green prize boxes delivered 3114 party passes & 447 gems. My charms total increased by 660 including 21 holiday wines &17 gold cards
It said on screen that there were 207 prizes to collect but delivered 736.
Week 3
I collected boxes when I collected coins and noted down what was delivered each time. This week coincided with when I buy my building stock for making monuments during the treasure box slow down. At the start of the week I had 231 buildings at the end of the week, I had 240 buildings, at its peak I had 248 buildings. I made 19 coin and prize collections.
In total I had 717 green boxes which delivered 3437 party passes & 249 gems and a total of 629 charms including 16 holiday wines & 13 gold cards
Making an L4 monument and buying a Casino Satellite appeared to net more gems than buying 6 x tier 6, 4 x tier 8, 2 x tier 9 and 3 x tier 13 buildings did BUT they seemed to net me more party passes.
Have I drawn any conclusions from my three week “study”? No, not really
Just finished my 3rd 7 day Green Box collection.
For the 1st 7 day GB (green boxes) collection period, I collected my city coins 2x/day - when signing on in the afternoon, and again before signing off after midnight. On Days 4 and 6, I was able to collect 3x/day every 6 hours.
During my 2nd 7 day GB collection period, I collected city coins 1x every 24 hours to maximize my L3 rewards, since I have only 7 L4’s and 38 L3’s.
For the 3rd 7 day collection period I tried to collect every 6 hours as much as I could, but could only do it 1 or 2x a day. The time between the other collections was much longer, as much as 12 hours. The number of buildings over all three periods was about 1135.
The comparison between the three 7 day GB collection periods was interesting. After the 1st 7 day period I only received Gold Cards from my L4’s. The 2nd and 3rd 7 day periods yielded Wine from all L4’s. Gem amounts were basically the same for all 3 collection periods. Passes were highest during the first collection period and 18% lower from the 1st to the 3rd collection period.
The biggest difference was between the 2nd and 3rd GB collection periods. The 3rd collection period showed 100 more GB’s collected than the 2nd one - 1403 versus 1304. Collecting city coins once every 24 hours (2nd period) versus collecting every 6 hours whenever possible (3rd period) appears to give less passes (-500) and increases the amount of charms (+600) by roughly the same amount. Wine amount was the same, but there were 100% increases in the number of Gold Cards, Tonic, and Surfboards collected
Conclusion after three tests of 7 day GB collection is that 6 hour city collection when possible versus 1x every 24 hours yields more total GB’s, although the increase is less than 10%. During the 3rd test period, the increase in amount of GB’s from one city collection to the next was highest during the first 4 days, and fell off as much as 50% on Days 5-7. Since the number of GB’s showing after city collection is lower than the final count after GB collection, I don’t know whether this is meaningful or not. I may try a 4 day GB collection to see how much difference there is.
I’m fortunate enough to get plenty of passes from my TB’s, so a decrease of 500 passes isn’t enough of a problem for me to favor 24 hour city collection over 6 hour when possible, especially given the increase in valuable charms by 100%. So I’ll be doing a 4th 7 day CB test with 6 hour city collection when possible to see how the results match up.
I’m curious about one thing I’ve noticed. During the 21 day testing period, I haven’t seen a green box on any of the Crown reward buildings. Do any of you get GB rewards from your Crown buildings and if so what are they?
@Eddi_Bets You have the patience of a saint!! Thank you for the research!
It’s the only thing saintly about me I can assure you
Update: 7-Day Test & 5-Test Strategy Comparison
I’ve just completed a new 7-day comprehensive test to verify my previous findings on collection frequency. This run was performed on a city with 153 buildings (mostly L4s) using a strict 6-hour collection schedule.
The Payout Results (Test 5) The visual counter on the city is misleading. At the end of the week, it only displayed 153 Green Prizes waiting. However, because I had been collecting the “hidden” stack every 6 hours, the actual yield was higher.
- Displayed Prizes: 153
- Actual Boxes Collected: 1,763
- The Reality: The counter only shows a snapshot (approx 1 per building), but the background stack held over 11x that amount.
Visual Evidence (Screenshot): During the collection, you can see many 89-92 Gems/Passes. (The standard 6-hour rate is ~85, but the time variance up to 6hr 15min pushes it slightly higher). You can also see the Multiplier Effect in action - while rare, it massively increases a single box’s yield:
- 3x Multiplier: ~276 Gems/Passes
- 6x Multiplier: ~513 Gems/Passes
Net Rewards:
Gems: +6,823
Party Passes: +61,724
Charms: +1,291 (including 645 Holiday Wines & 466 Gold Cards)
Analysis: Strategy Comparison Across 5 Tests
Adding this new dataset to my previous tests confirms the “Frequency is King” rule for L4 cities.
- Test 1 (8-Hour Cycle): 1,029 total rewards over 7 days (Avg: 48.9 per collection).
- Test 2 (6-Hour Cycle - Previous): 1,683 total rewards over 7 days (Avg: 60.1 per collection).
- Test 3 (12-Hour Single): 62 total rewards for a single collection.
- Test 4 (6-Hour Single): 61 total rewards for a single collection.
- Test 5 (6-Hour Cycle - Current): 1,763 total rewards over 7 days (Avg: ~60 per collection).
The Verdict: Test 5 is almost identical to Test 2, proving that the results are consistent and repeatable.
- Consistency: In both 6-hour cycle tests, the average yield settled right around 60 rewards per collection.
- Volume: Collecting every 6 hours (Test 2 & 5) yields nearly 70% more rewards than collecting every 8 hours (Test 1).
- The Cap: If I had waited longer (like in the 8-hour test), I would have lost those extra boxes to the “cap.”
- Quality: I got more Party Passes, Gems, and larger Charms due to evolving everything to L4.
Conclusion: Build as many L4s as you can and stick to a 6-hour schedule to maximize volume.
Final Note:
I’ve updated the original top post to include the final conclusions based on all completed testing. For transparency and historical context, the original write-up has been left intact below the conclusion within the same post, so readers can see how the theory evolved over time.
Thanks to everyone who participated, tested, and shared results. The collaborative effort is what made it possible to reach a clear and accurate understanding.

Thanks very much for taking the time to do the tests and also to share your conclusions Night Guy ![]()
Hi Luck Is ALady,
I have just cleared my city of green box prizes and i have 1 building from a Crown Level ( Farsight Observatory ) I opened the green box of that individually and received 18 Party Passes.
Results from my testing this week emptying my coin collection 3 times per day and leaving green boxes for 7 days.
Coin collection added up for the whole week based on collecting 3 times per day 7,885,060,259
Prizes stated 504 Prizes actually collected 903 ( Lower than usual because of longer TB opening times in the first week of a new month ) when i reach the faster opening of TB’s i would usually get between 1,200 - 1,500 green box prizes if i leave them the whole week.
Charms 823 ( 23 Gold Cards ) ( 31 Holiday Wine ) then 769 other smaller charms
Party Passes 7,436
Gems 473
Conclusion on this if you can empty your city coin collection every 6 hours you will get more green prize boxes on your buildings in your city. I am certainly not disturbing my sleep to do this LOL !!!
As Night Guy has stated in his posts the more L4 monuments you have the more chance you have of getting more PP’s, Gems and higher value charms. A big Thanks to Night Guy for testing and sharing his findings and all the useful info.
Have a good day and next week everyone, good luck and i hope you all win big.

It sounds like Night Guy already answered the questions everyone had, for what it is worth I did the above 2 week test collecting coins 3x per day and allowing the green boxes to stack. Results are as follows:
Displayed boxes: 104 capped out after ~7 days, doesn’t go beyond total building in your city.
Collected boxes: 1876 I predicted 40-50 per collection x3 per day x14 day so expected between 1680-2100 with average 1890 and saw almost exactly as expected, no “extra” boxes.
Charms: 1373 - wines 662 and gold cards 515 with the balance smaller charms.
Gems: 10,671
Passes: 87,463
The charms, gems and passes appear to be roughly what I would expect for a 2 week period. I suppose the way to be 100% certain is to compare with a equivalent 2 week test where the boxes are cleared at the same time as coins (previous status quo) and calculate daily averages but that is a lot of work. Possibly this data can be compared with @Night_Guy ‘s. I have 75 L4s so perhaps data can be corrected to account for different city sizes and 1 week vs 2 week tests.
What if one has a city that does not have that many L4’s. Would I still collect every 8 hours? or stay with the 24 hour collection at this point

I may be confused or have missed this somewhere, but I don’t remember any discussion about time length and/or daily number of TB’s opened affecting the amount green boxes. @Night_Guy would you please weigh in on this?
@NashRivers L3 buildings generally require longer intervals (around 24 hours) to mature into higher-tier rewards. Managing a mix of tiers makes timing difficult, so keeping a city as uniform as possible is the optimal route.
If your city is currently running mostly L3s, the 24-hour cycle is likely the best bet for efficiency. However, this is just a temporary stepping stone. Stressing about perfect math isn’t necessary at this stage; collecting based on your schedule and focusing on evolving everything to L4 is the priority. Analyzing exact scaling for lower tiers is likely counterproductive when the ultimate goal is simply to upgrade them.
@Luck_Is_ALady believe @01_Jet is referring to her specific monthly testing routine. She accumulates boxes for about 2 weeks until her TB speedup arrives, which results in that 1,200-1,500 count. It’s the duration of the stack (2 weeks) that yields that high number.
