now this is ridiculous, so not only is there tension in a party having anyone blocked but now you can’t see the avatar so if you’re standing in a room, you could be on top of someones avatar, so everyone thinks your rude. we don’t need no more ways people get upset
All im gonna say is that this is a terrible idea. Please revert this CW, its just gonna cause ALOT more problems.
ummmm, you cant see the avatar cuz its not in the room, only in the left side lobby chat, so it would be impossible to stand on top of it, cuz its not in the room, its actually a brilliant idea what they did, will cuz less tension in the room, bravo flowplay
i agree with @01Peaches its a great idea and will create way less tension in the room, as the old adage goes, out of sight out of mind, wtg flowplay
NO Its not a good idea those who do see the person you have blocked if you can’t see them in room you could be on top of them and not know it so you look like a ruse person to everyone, so I totally disagree with this idea, come up with positive changes CW not ones the create more tension
Here’s my two cents on the matter…I think visuals are important. If you want to avoid the blocked person in a party room and you can’t see them, it is an eerie and unsettling feeling of uncertainty. As a long-time partygoer, I like my “personal space” with any player in the room. I see others inching to one side or the other or completely zoom across the room when anyone comes in their bubble. So, that new feature sucks cause its true you could be on top of them and oblivious to it. Next, which I find more disturbing is that we have will never see the chat log of the blocked player at a party…we may never know if their speech is ridiculing or humiliating towards whose blocked. The blocked player will never have the chance to defend him or her self. I think CW should consider unblocking chat/speech in public areas that we all congregate to such as the party room (when party is in progress), lobby and VIP lounge but only during group settings with other avatars. Or we could just unblock everyone and deal with the drama.
I wonder, as a party host, if i have someone on block (for example) and I host a party, does that mean they can still enter my party, only i will not see them other than their name on the list?
What about having party hosts be able to perm-block someone from attending any of their future parties.
You must have someone blocked for them not to enter your party if they do, they poof,or can’t see it on party board. But if you don’t have them blocked and they have you blocked they can come to your party
I was unsure if I’d fully understood the new blocking feature so I submitted a request as Samantha had said in her announcement post.
I think my questions are obvious from the replies apart from my final one which is answered in the last paragraph and was ‘what is the point of the feature?’
If I have read the reply correctly it doesn’t stop the blocked person following or dancing on top of the player, just prevents the player from seeing them do it
i think some of you missed the point, the whole idea of this new format was to alleviate tension in the room with blocked players which they accomplished in spades..this spawning issue is a whole new topic and has been a problem for years where people spawn in the room and has nothing to do with this new block feature..and…if i may, same with the server issue of syncing everyones server so we see where everyone is, that again is a completey different set of worms about where we see other people on our screens and has nothing to do with this new feature to eliminate blocked players from harassing each other…its really not rocket science
Hi Peaches, sorry I know I don’t go to a lot of parties and I usually just keep myself to myself but I’m not familiar with the term ‘people spawn in the room’
OMG, LOL! It makes no sense to me if I read correctly? I do not block, so I see Everyone, (even my Blockers) right? But, my Blockers can not see me, Right? So if I am Harrassing someone (which I never would), They can not see me doing it but everyone else can? Really? Not much of a solution if you ask me!
Warning from CW and Banning seems more appropriate for Serial “Stalkers” and “Harassers” to me!
its when people coming into or spawn into a room, its random..sometimes people get put on top of someone, or block them or get right on their butts… and the syncing issue is where the servers are not aligned and we see people differently on our screens, someone might appear at the bottom of my screen but appear at the top of your screen, which could result in people blocking or ending on top of each other..but either way, both those issues are entirely seperate problems that have absolutely nothing with flowplay wanting to alleviate tension in the room between two hateful players out for blood..why some people are insisting that this has something to do with spawning and syncing is puzzling to say the least.. wtg flowplay
I think she is meaning we do not all see the same placement of party guest on our screens. Basically, You may be seeing some thing different than me! Thats why I click my feet at least 3 times when I move to a place in a room, LOL! That way I know everyone sees me where I see me!
ummm @SteveSunset you click your heels 3 times and say “ im not in kansas anymore, im not in kansas anymore “
Yes, LOL, Every time I move in a room. Beats the Spawn problem!
Until very recently, when a host who is a friend whispered to me to ask me to move because I was blocking someone, I didn’t know that we don’t all always see the same arrangement of avatars; on my screen I wasn’t completely in front of any other avatar but clearly I must have been on someone else’s
I usually just stay where I land when I enter the party
its happened to us all @Eddi_Bets get spawned or moving to a section of the room only to find you where you thought it was empty it was on someone elses screen blocking or standing on top of someone
Time will tell to see how this change does, to me if there were more consequences for bad behavior we wouldn’t see so much childish behaviors. More hosts need to watch how others act in their parties boot them out if you see bullying. Too many come here not to play but to take their miserable feelings out on others.
So far I have been lucky. The parties I host have been friendly and the atmosphere light and fun. So far……
