Thank you for this very useful info, much appreciated!!
There is zero chance of me waiting five or more days without collecting! ![]()
Iâll never do that again. I held off collecting my green prizes for almost a day. It showed I was up to over 160 green prizes. The next time I went in to collect my treasure box and collected my coins, it showed I only had 7 green prizes to collect!! I contacted CW and they said if I didnât collect them, I would get them with my next collection, so the next time I went in it showed I had 20 green prizes. I went ahead and collected them, and thatâs all I got was the 20! So bummed, I donât know what happened to the over 160 I was supposed to get, but they are gone. ![]()
Hi Theresa, i collect my coins 3 times a day and i always save my green boxes for 7 days then empty them every Sunday. I always make a note of how many charms, party passes and gems i have before i empty the green boxes, after i empty them all i either log out then log back on or reload CW, then if it has missed any they should appear then. I do this regular and they always appear. When clearing the green boxes always check how many green prizes it states after you have clicked on the collect prize bar.
It states on mine at the moment i have 312 green box prizes.
Hope this helps you if you do decide to try it again.
Good luck

Thanks @01_Jet appreciate the feedback. However, I had tracked it and nothing showed up except for the new 20 green prizes. I even reloaded thinking that might help. Not sure what happened.
im going to wait 7 days and try it too ![]()
Thanks everyone for the information around this. I am also interested in seeing what happens after 7 days of not collecting green prizes. When evolving monuments before the 7 days is up, do you collect the green prizes from the monuments and buildings associated with that process before you evolve?
Hi Tempty, yes collect all the green box prizes from all monuments and buildings on the 7th day before you evolve. If you want to go further than 7 days just buy new buildings but donât create or evolve any monuments. Not to sure if you get the prizes if you create or evolve monuments if you donât collect, i have only done this once and not to sure if i got the prize or lost it.
Hope this helps.
Good luck

Thanks for your response Jet. I will test it out as I donât wait 7 days before evolving usually. Good luck to you also and thanks again ![]()
Edit: I have tested it out and it doesnât seem to collect the green prize automatically when you evolve. I also have the issue of the buildings in storage with green prizes which I use for evolving and having to move them out of storage one at a time to collect the green boxes before evolving. Does anyone know a simpler way to do this? Also, is there any way to move a building with a green prize, without collecting the prize first?
Hi Tempty, i tried that once moving my buildings out of storage to collect the green boxes ( some buildings in storage will have a green prize on them some will not ) before evolving, i gave up on doing that to time consuming i donât know of any other way. As for moving a building i think once you click on it, it will collect the green box prize i think.
I only create monuments, evolve monuments and buy new buildings once per week on a Sunday, just to simplify things for myself. I have done this for over 2 years now i am quite happy doing it this way and the prizes have got better since CW added the monuments especially on the L4 monuments. I know lots of people on here like to buy buildings on a daily basis to keep the HMP going, but i am not to concerned about this i am currently at Crown Level 44 and very happy where i am at the moment and not in any rush to get to the next one, i just take it easy.
As Night Guy stated in his posts and videoâs at the top of this post, after the 4 days HMP on buildings and leaving the green boxes for 7 days the green box prizes seem to accelerate from the 5th or 6th day onwards. ( I think this will be for clearing your coins every 6 hours if you can ) The more times your clear your coins the more green box prizes you will get. I clear my coins 3 time per day.
Good luck everyone on CW i wish you all success no matter how you do things on here

Thanks Jet. I appreciate the time you took to respond and share your experiences so far. I will see what happens after the 7 days with the green prizes and go from there. In the end, we all do what works best for us and I like hearing the different ways people do things. Thanks again and take care ![]()
@Elanor posted this in another thread about getting the green boxes to disappear if you arenât ready to collect them.
Iâve found if I leave my city and park on a slot for five minutes or so it seems to stimulate the HMP buildings to display a coin payment, which means the green boxes have gone back into CW storage. They only display again the next time I do a coin collection.
After the green boxes disappear, I can evolve monuments without triggering collection of any green boxes that may be on them.
Thank you very much for your response Luck is a Alady
I will play around with it as I am not used to waiting before collecting.
Iâm trying this out too. I hope itâs worth it because the delayed gratification is agonizing.
@Night_Guy always has such good information.
I was probably well into year 3 before I realized the âhelpâ button was there to actually help us with the game (not just to fix something when I broke it) and for everyone to share what works. And then another few months before I found Night Guyâs helpful posts.
It does take me some time to take what I read and implement the suggestions, and I realize that is what they are, suggestions. And then I see what a difference they make, sometimes a massive difference.
I am like @Goose_Rocks and delayed gratification can be hard.
I am at a modest tier 10-11 with 10 level 23 monuments, so I do have a way to go in city building.
What I did the last few days was still collect my coins and leaving my green boxes to brew for 24 hours. Each morning, I would write down what my city told me I had (coins, passes, gems and boxes to open) then I would collect everything and see what I got. One day I did see that even though it said I had 119 boxes I actually collected 233. Not a bad haul for 24 hours. My passes seemed to be more than what I typically see in a regular day although I have not kept track of what a regular day of collecting was for comparison.
Will I be able to push myself to wait more than 24 hours? Hummm?
I need to go back and read the comments above on how to still build without collecting the green boxes and when I get that accomplished, I will move on to delayed gratification.
Thank you for everyoneâs suggestions and ideas and most of all THANK YOU Night Guy.
The purpose of this post is to open a constructive discussion regarding city rewards and green prizes. Whether the current theory holds true or not, these tests are a valuable learning experience for all of us as we dive deeper into the gameâs mechanics.
Iâve been having a great discussion with Lashanda lately about green prizes, and she asks such good questions that they really make me think! Thank you for that, Lashanda.
@txmaryk99 You are very welcome! Iâm so glad the info is helping you with your city. Itâs been great having you and others involved in the testing. Cheers to the big payouts - keep those boxes stacking!
I wanted to share a specific thought with everyone - especially @Goose_Rocks and @txmaryk99 and the others, who are currently testing the âdelayed gratificationâ strategy. The main reason Iâm pushing for all L4s is purely for efficiency during these 7-day tests and the possibility that L4s green prizes have a steeper acceleration curve after day 5 vs non L4s.
The Theory: Accelerating Rewards
The theory is that green prize rewards accelerate from Day 5 onwards. Since Iâm doing the 7-day wait anyway, I want to ensure the buildings yield the best possible prizes. It all comes down to âPower Meterâ efficiency:
- L3 Monument (or lower): It take Just under 24 hours for L3 and more for others to reach peak value (like Holiday Wine/Golden Playing Cards/More Passes/More Gems). To get that peak prize, you cannot collect coins for the full ~24 hours.
- L4 Buildings: These hit the peak power meter level in only 6 hours. Note that for standard charms, this is a maximum level - waiting longer than 6 hours wonât upgrade a Golden Playing Card or Holiday Wine into something better.
- The Gem/Pass Exception: Unlike charms, Gems and Passes do not seem to have this cap; they will continue to increase in value until the moment you actually collect the coins.
The 6-Hour Collection Conflict
To maximize green box spawns, we have to collect city coins frequently (ideally every 6 hours). Because the green prize is determined the moment you collect those coins, here is what happens:
- On an L3 Monument (Tier 15): Collecting every 6 hours essentially âresetsâ the meter before it can produce anything big (Charm/Passes/Gems). You end up with a stack of small Charms/Passes/Gems because the building never reached its 24-hour peak.
- On an L4 Monument (Tier 23): You can collect every 6 hours to trigger those green boxes without sacrificing quality. You lock in a top-tier reward every time.
- HMP Nuance: If you collect coins early on HMP buildings, that prize is determined at that exact moment. The major risk we are investigating is whether an HMP collection triggers the green prize determination for your non-HMP buildings as well. If it does, those non-HMP buildings green prizes will be âlocked inâ early and will never reach their top-tier rewards. Specifically, does the HMP coin collection force a city-wide green prize determination, or is it restricted to buildings that actually have coins available to collect at that moment?
Important Note on Ranking and Prize Types
- City Ranking: You donât have to open the green boxes immediately. The prize is calculated into your city ranking the moment you collect the coins.
- Prize Locking: If that initial determined prize is a Gem or a Pass, every stacked prize on that building will stay a Gem or Pass. (Not 100% sure on this but reports indicate that).
- Multiplier Potential: Keep in mind that green prizes also have a multiplier of up to 5x. This means that instead of a standard reward of 85 Gems or 85 Passes or 8.5M coins every 6 hours from an L4 monument, you could potentially receive 425 instead.
Using L4s is simply the most efficient way to make a 7-day wait worth the effort. It doesnât change the test data*, but it massively increases your final payout!
Hi @cw2988, those are excellent questions! Based on my current testing:
- Stacking Duration: I am fairly certain you can keep the prizes stacking indefinitely, provided you maintain that 6-hour coin collection window to keep the building cycles moving.
- Delayed Coin Collection: Holding off on coin collection for 7 days should result in the same green prize logic as a standard 6-hour collection, but with a much higher coin total. One key difference is that if the prize is a Gem or a Pass, the quantity will actually continue to scale up until you collect. However, for charms (assuming L4s), the âPower Meterâ still peaks - you wonât see anything higher than a Holiday Wine or Golden Playing Card even with the extra time.
Regarding the animation: Youâre right! Refreshing or exiting the city will collect the coins/prizes instantly so you donât have to wait. I only wait in my videos to physically record and count the rewards for data purposes.
P.S. One more thing to consider: Iâm will be testing to see if prizes continue to stack once that Power Meter hits its peak without coin collection. Itâs possible that once the building reaches its max-tier reward, the power meter resets and stacking will continue.
So, for a small city with 234 buildings, waiting 7 days delivered 2933 party passes & 239 gems from green boxes. My charms total increased by 820 - 13 holiday wines & 12 gold cards. It said on screen there were 217 prizes to collect but delivered 844
My jury is currently out on if this is worth the itchy-fingered wait to collect the green boxes for a low value city.
Glad I did it though and I may well do it more when I have a greater number of level 4 monuments
Couple of thousand party passes is not to be sniffed at and itâs better than I anticipated
@Eddi_Bets , Iâm glad you had the patience. I experienced similar (on a smaller scale) results with my small city, but I caved after 3 days and made my collections. I currently have only 6 L4 monuments.
From my perspective, I sense thisâit is worthwhile to collect coins as soon as possible after the 6 hour chunk of time has passed, and delaying the collection of green boxes does indeed yield more boxes.
However, I feel at this stage of my city development, my energies are best devoted to consistently increasing the overall value of my city, and reaping those rewards a little more oftenâmy capacity for delayed gratification is not yet at the level required to wait 7 days.
(And I suspect that wonât change for a while). For me, with only 6 L4 monuments, it make a little more sense for me to gather the green box rewards a little more frequently and put them to use in my pursuit of the next milestone/crown.
But it has been interesting to experiment with it, and to hear everyoneâs take.
Thanks, Iâll admit to having been tempted to collect before 7 days a couple of times so I had to remind myself Iâm a âfinish what you startedâ kinda gal ![]()
As soon as I had collected I made my 7th L4 monument and used up my gems on a Casino Satellite so I think Iâll give the wait another go in case (really in hope) that as brand new buildings one of them will have a gem prize in itâs 1st green box. Wish me luck!
