My question is this: IF I wait 7 days to collect my green prizes, would they get better and bigger the longer I wait? For example, if I collect them each day, I may get low level charms, gems, passes etc. If I wait 7 days, is there now a greater chance of higher level charms, and more of them? Im curious to see if waiting is worth it because it will increase your green prize payout

@Night_Guy, you said:

  1. On an L3 Monument (Tier 15): Collecting every 6 hours essentially ā€œresetsā€ the meter before it can produce anything big (Charm/Passes/Gems). You end up with a stack of small Charms/Passes/Gems because the building never reached its 24-hour peak.

I have 1,100+ buildings/monuments in my city, but only 7 L4’s and 38 L3’s. 300 are monuments, 30 are buildings Tier 2-6, and 770 are buildings Tier 7-14. My city value is just over the 1.8M gems needed to maximize the brown Treasure Boxes. I do a full city collection 2x/day - when I first sign in and just before I sign out at night, and open my Green Boxes every 3 days.

Based on your quote above, to get the most value until I add more L4’s it looks like I should be doing a full city coin collection only once every 24 hours, correct? How often I should collect my Green Box prizes? It’s difficult for me to collect from my city every 6 hours, which I guess doesn’t matter right now, but will in the future. Any alternative to that besides not collecting city coins for 7 days?

Thanks for all the work you’ve put into this project and sharing your conclusions with us.

Correction: Listing my city composition above, the range on monuments/buildings starting with Tier 7 should have said 770 from Tier 7-20. Forgot about the higher tier crown buildings.

@NashRivers That’s the big question we’re trying to answer! Preliminary data suggests that rewards accelerate significantly after Day 5, which is what we are currently investigating. I was in the middle of a test, but the arrival of those 20 extra crowns threw off my numbers a bit, so I’ll be restarting that run shortly to get more accurate data.

@Luck_Is_ALady That is an excellent observation, and you are spot on. Since your city currently has significantly more L3 monuments, a 24-hour coin collection cycle is much more efficient for you. Collecting coins every 6 hours on an L3 resets the meter before it can produce anything big. By waiting 24 hours, you avoid those low-tier charms and aim for a Holiday Wine or Golden Playing Card as your minimum quality reward.

The strategy definitely shifts based on your L4 vs. L3 ratio. Keep in mind that while L4 charm quality might peak early at the 6-hour mark, if your L4 prizes happen to be Gems or Passes, they will continue to scale the longer you wait, making that 24-hour collection very rewarding.

@Eddi_Bets Congrats on getting that 7th L4 built, Eddi! Good luck with the new building - I’m curious to see if that first green box brings you some Gems.

@Smiling_Jim I totally understand, Jim! Delayed gratification is a challenge, and focusing on overall city value is always a solid move at your stage. Even with 6 L4s, you’ll still see a nice benefit if you can time those collections to hit the peak tiers.

@CURLS_N_PEARLS Wow, those are incredible results for a 7-day wait! Thank you for sharing those numbers - collecting 675 boxes and over 407 Gems really shows the power of patience.

You folks are basically waiting on collecting in your cities. Does that mean you reset a challenge if it involves collecting coins, etc.?

I’m collecting coins but not the green prize boxes that appear just after you collect the coins; those are what we’re stacking up for 7 days. It doesn’t affect either city coin collection or treasure box challenges

I take all the advise given on board but having only one L4 monument it’s like trying to make honey with only one bee :joy: :tulip:

I’m currently starting the following test:

I’ve upgraded all my buildings and have 75 L4s and the party rooms, nothing else. I won’t purchase any more buildings from this point. I’m going to stack the green boxes for 2 weeks (which should be around the time of the TB speedup for Feb). I will collect coins 3 times per day since collecting 4 times would mean cutting sleep to under 6 hours so maybe slightly less than optimum.

I think each coin collection should yield 40-50 green boxes for my city so over a 2 week collection period 3 times per day the normal amount of green boxes would be around 2000 so will be looking for a number significantly above 2000 to confirm the stacking effect if I have understood this correctly.

Wow, that’s a) an impressive estate you have and b) a huge test of delayed gratification on the green box front. I will be very interested in your findings (there’s always something to learn even when scale is nowhere near comparable) and I sincerely hope you are rewarded handsomely for your efforts
Good Luck

One thing I tried was to wait 6 days to collect the Green Prize box. I began by clicking on only 1 box first and noticed that it was a Holiday Wine Charm (Not unusual since i was on a L15 momument) What I DID notice however, was that it said ā€œ2 Prizes Collectedā€ and only one charm moved to the right side. Anyone else notice this?

I know there are times when I get more prizes than what the game says I have coming. What I don’t know is what the extra prize was. For me and my current city, it does not happen everyday.

Hi Nash, yes it does this all the time, i note down how many charms i have before i start clearing the green boxes. I always note down how many PP’s, Gems, Gold Cards & Holiday Wine i have. Not to bothered checking on the lower charms. If you note the amount of charms you have, then when you click on one at a time if it says 2 prizes go back to your charms and you should see 2 have been added. I have done this numerous times and they have always been added, if this hasn’t worked refresh or log out then log back in and they should be there. Hope this helps. :+1: :four_leaf_clover: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@NashRivers when I opened my Green Boxes after 7 days, I started individually with my L4 monuments first. Before opening the boxes I wrote down how many passes, gems and charms I had. Most of my L4 prizes were gold card charms and on the ones that said 2 or 3 prizes I could see the other prizes were passes by comparing my starting passes amount to how many it said I had after opening each box. I’d write new number down, then check again with each box to see how many had been added..

When you open a box, if you look quickly underneath it after it opens, you can sometimes catch it showing ā€œ25 passesā€ or whatever as they float up to your total coin amount or charm manager.

@Night_Guy since I only have 7 L4’s, I’m going to start collecting my city coins once every 24 hours. Is there any additional value gained by waiting beyond 24 hours to open my green boxes? If so, how many days should I wait?

Today I collected all the Green Boxes available - a total of 166 that produced 555 prizes. At first, I was disappointed in the results: Only 55 gems and 649 charms (of these, 58 Holiday Wines, 1 Tonic and 22 Gold Playing Cards). But then I looked at Party Passes - WOW! Got 8,053 of them. Nice. I’ll be doing another test this week. I collect coins 3x/day. Every morning, I build in my city, usually making 6-8 L1s and every 4 days an L2 from the L1s and/or T8s, T9s. It’s during this process that I have to open some Green Boxes to avoid losing the Treasure. I didn’t record how many I opened before the 7-day period nor kept track of the rewards. Now that I have a ā€œmapā€ of my city I know which T6’s I’ll be opening and which L1s will be upgraded, etc. My city was/is relatively new, only 13 L4s, 5 L3s, 18 L2s (as of last night). Looking forward to next week’s results! Thanks everyone!

Right now I collect once a day in the morning. I know patience is a virtue, so I’m going try to see what happens when I wait 7 days. Gonna be hard though…Curiosity killed the cat.

I am on day 5 of this ā€œsave the green boxesā€ 7 day test and I think I royally messed up by evolving L1 monuments into L2s along the way. I did it out of habit, but realize now that it altered my green box totals. I assume I just lost all those prizes once I evolved those monuments. So my question is this: Should you wait and only evolve your buildings after collecting your green box stash on Day 7?? This whole waiting prospect is requiring a LOAD of patience. LOL. I don’t think I can maintain it folks….

Hi River girl, when i first started saving the green boxes for 7 days i created and evolved monuments before clearing the green box prize out of habit ( never done this since lol !!! ) whether i got the prize or i lost it i am not to sure, that’s why i note everything down now.

I have done another test this week and completed it today.

I collected my coins once per day and collected all the green box prizes today on the 7th day.

After collecting the coins the green prize bar was on 272 when i clicked on it the prizes it said 347 prizes i got 131 charms ( 7 Gold cards, 8 Holiday Wine and the rest smaller charms ) i got 740 gems and 4,485 Party Passes.

This test shows a lot less charms from last week when i was collecting my coins 3 times per day. Last week after leaving the green boxes for 7 days, the prize bar after i collected my coins said 384 prizes when i clicked on it, it went to 1,287 i got 547 charms ( 18 Gold Cards, 28 Holiday wine the rest smaller charms. Party passes where 7,836 and Gems 321.

I am doing another test this week starting from today until next Sunday, i am going to leave my coin collection for the whole week. Never done this so we shall see what happens, will post the results of this next week.

Good luck everyone on CW i wish everyone success :+1: :four_leaf_clover: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
