WOW - This information is SO helpful and fills in some blanks for me! I also track my TB’s daily looking for trends/tips/tricks to see how I can improve my TB outcomes - but just couldn’t understand why they seemed so random. The multiplier effect helps me look at it differently.
hello semi newbie hrtr so I read some threads that say u can manipulate getting charms instead of coins by the monuments that one ownes is there any information of graphs or threads I’d be very greatful
I don’t recall mentioning you can manipulate getting charms. If you know what thread and where, I would review how it was stated. The game system determines what you get from a building or monument. But what might have been said is if the building has a green box, the building will pay 100 coins plus a charm (or possibly gems or party passes). If it does not have a green box, it then pays only coins.

I think this can give people the wrong impression about which charms hold the best value. A charm’s overall value should be their coin:gem ratio. Just because a charm gets used up faster doesn’t mean it’s “better” or has a higher “value”. That’s like saying if you’d rather have 2.5 million USD today or 3.5million USD tomorrow. Yeah, you can get 2.5 million USD in a quicker (faster) amount of time, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best long-term value.
You can easily test this with any 2 charms. Grab a charm with a lower coin:gem ratio but a faster payout. Grab another charm with a higher coin:gem ratio, but a slower payout. Use 25 of each charm. Play 100 hands/spins etc. until both charms are used up. You’ll notice that the faster payout charm will have been used up quicker, but the batch of the higher coin:gem ratio charm will give you more coins in the end, for the same value of gems spent.
The only way that a “faster” paying charm would benefit you is if you have an infinite supply of passes/gems, since you then would instead focus on getting the fastest-paying charms, even if it’s not the best value for your gems/passes.

I see where you are coming from, but I actually have to disagree. The coins won-to-drop ratio is definitely more important than the coin-to-gem ratio. The coin-to-gem ratio is pretty similar across most charms, making any difference truly negligible. Because of the built-in house edge in most games, the speed of your payout is huge. If you are using a charm that pays out less per win - say, 100 coins per 100 coins won instead of 1000 - you are forced to play extra spins to make the same amount. Since slots have a 10-20% house edge, those extra spins mean you are just handing more coins back to the house over time.
There are certainly exceptions, like Mahjong, where you can clear the board easily and maximize those high coin-to-gem ratio charms. But you also have to factor in how hard it is to fill a party for those charms, as well as the time it takes to get them to actually drop the coins required to progress. Unicorns and Nectars are incredibly popular, so their parties fill up fast and they are much easier to obtain.
It pays to experiment because every game has a different ideal charm. For slots, mushrooms usually take the top spot thanks to their high win-to-drop ratio. As a quick example, unicorns pay a 200:1 ratio on Sparkplug - you only have to risk 500K to cash out all 4 sets of unicorns for 100M coins if you win 500K!
Ultimately, minimizing your exposure to the house edge by playing games and charms that drop the most coins per win is the best way to reduce long-term losses.
Also, about needing an infinite supply of gems and passes - you actually get a ton of them from your city and treasure boxes! It might not be technically “infinite,” but as long as you manage your city well, you will always have plenty.

I only play Blackjack as my source of coins. When I bet 50 million per hand and 5 hands per round, this doesn’t give the charms the opportunity to pay fast or pay slow. Blackjack makes the charms spit out as much as they can, so the payout speed doesn’t necessarily matter due to the fact that the 250mil per round bet will make any stack of charms be used up in that hand/round regardless of how slow or fast it pays. This means that “payout speed” isn’t a factor. Unicorns, Shrooms, Rockets, etc. will all pay out in one “spurt” when you’re wagering 50 million coins. Knowing this information, it’s most logical to find out which charms give you the most coins per gem, since they all pay at the same speed for Blackjack. Yes, lots of charms have similar coin:gem ratios, but some stand out. There are a few that pay well above 5k per gem while 95% of the main charms pay below 5k per gem. On VW, which is where I mainly play (I’m typing here because many of the charm traits do actually carry over to VW. I’ve done tests to make sure this is true before commenting here about charms), Holiday Wine and Boxed Wine are two charms that pay around 5500 coins per gem, which is way more than the average 4500-ish coins per gem. Having large quantities of this significant difference will amount to billions of coins when considering tens of thousands of these charms in your inventory.
I understand your example of Sparkplug, but in the same vein, I don’t. Sparkplug is a -EV game, so it doesn’t make much logical sense why you’d use your charms and time at a -EV game when there are +EV games available (hello Blackjack). You’re essentially relying 100% on your charms to make you coins in Sparkplug. It’s -EV and you will lose in the long run, so the only way you’d have a chance at making coins is by using these charms. We’re math nerds. We’re smarter than that and we stay away from -EV games when there’s +EV games available for us to play. Why would you use your charms at Sparkplug when you can wager them at Blackjack? We already know that a charm’s total coin payout doesn’t vary per game, so all you’re doing is generating -EV and relying on your charms to put you in the positive. That, to me, is a lose/win. You’re losing because the game is -EV, and you’re relying on the charms to make you win. On the other hand, Blackjack is a win/win, because you’re generating +EV with perfect basic strategy (making pure profit from the game itself) AND you’re getting coins from your charms. On top of that, your charms pay out their full amount at a 50million bet, so you don’t need to worry about a charm’s payout speed when playing Blackjack.
p.s. the example of “bet 500k, win 100m from your charms” is ridiculous because at that point you’re not even trying to win at the game. Your charms are doing all the work. It’s just 100% pay-2-win at that point when you’re betting 500k and winning 100m because of charms. There’s no actual skill involved with that type of gameplay.

That is a great strategy for Blackjack if your main goal is maximizing profit. I personally play single hula blackjack for progress since that’s what I enjoy. But it is worth noting that not everyone plays just to maximize their coin value. A lot of players are just here to relax, and the tiny math details don’t matter much to them as long as they keep progressing. Besides, not everybody likes Blackjack - lots of people just want to have fun in other games.
My Sparkplug comment was really just an example to show the win-to-drop ratio. Lots of people enjoy Sparkplug purely for the fun of it, or just as a simple way to cash out the charms they get easily. Relying on those charms to stay ahead and cover the natural house edge is a completely valid way to play.
Also, a major difference between VW and CW is that you can consistently get a massive amount of party passes here. I mean enough passes where it is genuinely just fun to go to parties and collect charms! Once you max out your city, you are looking at getting anywhere from 400K to 800K (or even more) in passes every month just from your city and treasure boxes combined. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t think it is possible to pull 400K to 800K in passes per month over on VW from your treasure boxes. It used to be up to 1.7M passes per month before CW nerfed the game a few times.
Regarding your point about skill - there is definitely still skill involved in games like video poker. You have to know which game type to play and exactly what to hold or discard. It has a basic strategy just like CW’s version of Blackjack. You could even argue there is no real “skill” involved if you are just blindly following a chart for either game. @Elanor and I actually shared the strategy chart for CW’s Blackjack on the “why I like blackjack” thread (which gives about a 4%+ player edge), and using that is just following instructions.
Ultimately, what you might think is ridiculous gameplay is actually perfectly fine for someone else. There is no single “right” way to play. Some people love the math, some love the social parties, and some just like to spin. Not everyone wants to squeeze every last drop of value from a charm, and that is exactly what makes this community so diverse.
The fact that you can get hundreds of thousands of party passes each month says a lot in itself and why we have differing views.
VW players are way more limited to the passes we get (20k each month for loyalty rewards + a few thousands with treasure boxes). The fact that you tell me you guys get between 400k-800k monthly passes shows me that you guys practically have an infinite supply of passes, so I can see why you don’t care much about the coin:gem ratio. If I was given 400k-800k monthly passes, I wouldn’t care about coin:gem ratios either. The fact that VW players are more limited on resources makes us more likely to squeeze out as much value as we can with our low supply of passes, hence the reason why we like high coin:gem ratio charms.
It’s funny how I predicted your statement about your tons of party passes (I promise I didn’t cheat and go read elsewhere about CW party passes). The initial message I sent said “The only way that a “faster” paying charm would benefit you is if you have an infinite supply of passes/gems, since you then would instead focus on getting the fastest-paying charms, even if it’s not the best value for your gems/passes.” This turns out to be your exact situation where the game gives you so much party passes that you don’t care about coin:gem ratio’s and can afford to give up some potential value.
If you play VW, you’d realize that VW doesn’t offer these insane amount of passes, so in order to accommodate for that, VW players lean towards coin:gem ratio rather than your win-to-drop ratio, because, like you said earlier, we don’t have near infinite passes to use on Unicorns. Our resources are limited, so we VW folk like to squeeze as much value as we can out of the charms and don’t necessarily care how long it takes to get that value, as long as we know we eventually are getting that extra value.
The thing about Sparkplug…yes you are correct that video poker has their own chart, and yes it does have a “skill” element to it, but most importantly, even with the chart and perfect play, it’s still a -EV game, meaning you’ll lose money even with perfect play. It doesn’t make sense to waste brain cells memorizing a -EV chart when it would make much more sense to waste your brain cells memorizing a +EV chart (Blackjack).
The reason I said that Sparkplug has no skill to it was because of your “500k bet 100m win” example. If you bet 500k and your charms paid 100mil every time, you wouldn’t worry about playing perfect strategy video poker, because your win is a whopping 200x your wager. You can literally play it on auto-hold, have an auto-clicker over the “deal” button, and still win, assuming you have the Unicorns equipped. That’s why I said your example of video poker isn’t skilled.

When I first started playing, I was actually choosing between the multiple versions - VW, CW, and 7 Seas. I ended up picking CW in the end simply because it was different with the whole tycoon-style city-building aspect.
You are right about the economy, though. The party pass and gem situation is definitely quite different here compared to the other versions of FlowPlay’s casino games. It makes sense why VW players prioritize the coin-to-gem ratio when passes are so limited. It is always interesting to see how the different resources completely change the strategy!

Many of us realize that My City is the real game in CW. Game skill is not required to progress. Most productive strategy is to build your city to generate party passes so that you can acquire charms, then convert those charms to coins.

I play solo only and buy the table. At my level, which was big, I slapped 1 million on each seat. The next 3 hand the dealer was dealt 21… I was so pissed off. LOL…I went on saying nah, this has to stop
Next hand dealer has 6… Multiple attempts to split and double up etc… Took the bait. Flips a 5 and then a King.

Question regarding the determination of a charm’s payout.
You mentioned that RNG plays a factor (-/+ 25% range) in determining a charm when it is gifted to the room by a player and when it is received at the beginning of a charm party (25x, 50x, 75x, etc.).
My question is when you receive 25 charms at the start of a party, and you find their total payout value, is that “value” one RNG simulation (the -/+ 25% RNG aspect when determining how much a charm pays) which is then applied to ALL of those 25 charms, or does VW do one RNG simulation PER charm (25 total RNG simulations)?
If that question doesn’t make sense, let me simplify. Let’s say you received 25 Unicorns and they pay 5mil each. Did VW run one RNG simulation, get 5mil as the value, and then apply it to ALL 25 Unicorns, or did VW run 25 simulations (one simulation each per charm) and then it happened to average out to 5mil?
I personally feel like it’s the first option where VW runs one simulation and applies it to all 25, because I’ve often had times where I got 25 charms and they paid very close to their maximum +25% RNG value. Let’s assume in this example that I did get a perfect +25% for my batch of 25 Unicorns. It’s more likely for it to be one high-value RNG simulation (+25%) applied to all 25 than it would to have twenty-five +25% RNG simulations. The odds of rolling a +25% is 1/50, because of the -/+25%. The odds of rolling a +25% twenty-five times in a row (because one simulation per individual charm) is 1 in 2.98*10^42, aka near impossible. This makes it seem like the first option is the more likely scenario.
Let me know your thoughts on this along with any evidence/proof that you have to prove either side.
